Good leadership helps a business thrive through times of jeopardy. It makes a business organization successful. It enables an organization to fulfill its mission, vision or goal. With efficient human resource policies and practices, effective leadership can be created within the business. Career planning is used to identify several factors such as, the ambitions of an employee, the needs, and the opportunities he seeks. Thus, with the help of various human resource programs, the employee can achieve the career he strives to reach. Edgar Schein defines career planning as ?a continuous process of discovery in which an individual slow develops his own occupational concept as a result of skills or abilities, needs, motivations and aspirations of his own value system.? Career planning is known to be as a very organized and efficient method in targeting different aspects of career development. Where it is a must for the employee to implement the strategies, self assess and analyze the opportunities that are provided, in order to successfully attain the career they seek.
There are several issues, which need to be considered by the organization when, planning a career and these issues can be focused down to three points. Firstly, the employees should be treated as unique members, which have needs and desires. Secondly, the employees tend to be more motivated when the company could meet their goals.
