For the past four years, I have maintained a conceptual continuity in my academic pursuit of quality work in the legal system. While in college I pursuit a criminal justice major with the intention to go to law school after graduating. I dreamed of becoming a lawyer since I was a young girl. However, during my senior year of college, I felt perplexed of my future, was not sure if I wanted to continue pursuing this old dream that I once thought it was my goal in life. Like most graduating seniors, I was not sure of what I wanted to do with my degree once I attain it. While I was contemplating to enroll in law school, I found a job as a nutrition clerk at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. While working there I realized I did not want to continue chasing a dream that was not my passion anymore. Robert Wood Johnson provided me with a working environment that I soon realized it was fit for me and that I wanted to continue working in the field of the health system. After months of searching for the right major, I finally recognized that I want to have a career in the health administration field. At long last, I genuinely am certain and convinced that I finally found my passion in my life. …show more content…

My path to law school has began in my sophomore year of college, now I am ready for the challenges ahead with an eagerness to learn. I have discovered over the years that I embody the unique combination of activism, diligence, and courage beneficial for a legal career. I originally had an interest in pursuing a law degree as a student in the School of International and Public Affairs at Florida International University. At the time, I chose to major in criminal justice with the intention of becoming a defense attorney. However as I neared graduation I was not certain about a career as a defense attorney.
It was when I first started doing research on sustainable development in underdeveloped countries such as Haiti that I become interested in the banking and financial industry. Aside from corruption and poor governance, Haiti's owes its place as one of the poorest countries to a lack of understanding of the financial industry; as a country, it lags behind in terms of finance and commercial banking as if it were a foreign concept to greater population. It became clear to me that the people who understand the financial and banking system also understand how to positively impact the future of a society or organization. Well, I want to be one of those people. I want to make sound financial decisions for my non-profit as I hone the skills necessary to create change in the financial and banking sector in countries like Haiti.
I remember watching videos about the periodic table on a YouTube channel I still use today called ‘Periodic Videos’ when I was too young to grasp an understanding fully, learning about Newton’s law - how even a simple thing like walking is possible and about orbitals at the start of college. These were concepts that genuinely blew my mind; shaping the way I see the world I experience every day. This is what interests me the greatest, concepts and theories that truly hold meaning from the delocalised electrons in my metal zipper, or the cells making up my finger that I’m typing with. I immensely enjoy the practical application of science, and learning about concepts that no longer seem as complicated but certainly still as astonishing.
I am very excited to apply for the Public Policy Fellowship at Philanthropy New York. I am currently a graduate student in my final semester at The City College of New York, pursuing a master’s degree in public administration. Being an immigrant myself, I understand the problems and difficulties faced by the immigrant communities in New York City. During the summer, I worked as an intern with Adhikaar, a Nepali organization working to protect the rights of domestic workers and other immigrants. I worked as a facilitator for Adhikaar’s English for Empowerment Program (EFE) and developed close relationships with the members of Adhikaar.
The University of Michigan offers an abundance of opportunities and classes in many fields, and I am especially appealed by those in the LSA Department of Psychology. I am interested in taking courses in Cognitive Development and Developmental Psychology, which cover topics regarding child development, emotions, and knowledge. Moreover, I hope to have the opportunity to meet Dr. Shelly Schreier, whose expertise overlaps with my academic focus, as I want to study the social behavior of children and childhood brain development. I am also attracted to the diverse selection of resources offered, especially those relating to global study and public service. I like to take an in-depth approach to learning, and I hope to fulfill this aspiration by getting involved in the many global study opportunities available to undergraduates.
Statement Of Purpose- “Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your self- confidence”. Great are the words of Mark Twain and true in my career. Throughout my career, I was always ready to learn new things and bring out best results. I am a studious person from my childhood and had a good and consistent career graph throughout my school life.

King’s College London King’s College pulses through the heart of London, and like a countless many who have been drawn to this hub of the world, I too feel a great urge to explore this city.
Detroit, the car capital of America, engineering students have unlimited connections to internships and jobs after graduation. Because Michigan is a world-class research university, the world's best professors are attracted to the school. This is especially true for the College of Engineering. For example, Andre Boehman, a professor of mechanical engineering, does research in the field of automotive engineering while teaching.
I am writing this Statement of Purpose to obtain admission into the Masters of Education in Learning Design and Technology program at Purdue University. Achieving the degree will assist me in accomplishing my goals in the Global Training field. Over the course of my career I have seen morale decline, employees leave, and even fatalities because we did not invest in human capital. Employees were not trained or given the tools to succeed.
It is startling how much one’s approach changes as life progresses. A twenty-something person has the impatience, vigor, and unfettered expectations that someone who has over fifty years of experience on this planet may not have. I am the latter. I still have the vigor. The impatience and unfettered expectations are tempered.
We are living in an incredible time, with globalization and technology playing an increasingly important and meaningful role in everyone’s lives. I have always been fascinated by the application of technology in business, and this interest along with my past entrepreneurial experiences have been instrumental in my decision to pursue a management degree. As a technology professional, my core strengths have always been my technical abilities combined with my leadership experience and passion for entrepreneurship. There is no doubt in saying that these are all great qualities but unfortunately are just not sufficient to accomplish my long-term goal of starting my global consultant services company ,or even less, to meet my short-term objective of becoming a management consultant once I graduate.
The opportunity to be part of the Master’s of Arts: Integrated Studies Program is extremely exciting and motivates me to start as quickly as possible. This program will offer me a unique ability to be exposed to Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Many other programs do not have that luxury. Having been out of the post-secondary system for seven years, and through teaching that entire time, I have been able to pinpoint the topics that I am passionate about. It was crucial for me to not simply acquire my Master’s for the sake of having it, but instead wait until I was sure I knew the direction of where I wanted my life to go and could find a program that I would genuinely be enthusiastic about completing.
There is a lot to consider when pursuing a health profession. It has a wide variety of careers ranging from doctors to health administration. Health Care professions can be seen everywhere on the media from the popular show, “Grey’s Anatomy” to talk shows like the, “The Doctors”. This has exposed many to possible careers in the Health Field. However, in these shows and other portrayals has caused a misconception of what the health field is really about.
Aviation is my passion. Spending summer vacations on my dad’s Air Force Base and learning the intricacies to pilot a single-engine aircraft accounted for some of my most treasured memories, as well as my inspiration to become an effective leader in cultivating growth in the aviation industry. Since earning my Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology, with the focus in Aviation Administration, it has been a multidisciplinary educational journey through three municipality owned airports and respective departments. The cumulative technical expertise and management experience acquired along the way led me to where I am today: the youngest Airport Manager at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, overseeing a robust parking
