The great depression was stressful and the most powerful downturn. Many things took place that made the great depression happen such as stock markets crashed that meant business closed and money was harder to earn, banks closed, less jobs, not a lot of money. It all occurred in us many people were left unemployed or without a home. People found ways to save money such as waiting until the prices were as lowest possible many sellers would have to sell the item at a price lower than what they bought it for making no profit they also used old clothing for dish rags. When banks started closing many people started withdrawing their money but for some it was too late, the money people had they stored under mattresses and not banks it was more secure
