The Genesis of a Global Catastrophe
Preserving the world is an overlooked important ideal that many fail to accomplish. Global climate change, a life threatening issue at Earth’s feet. The Industrial Revolution was a time of sweeping change in the world from having a rural economy to a dominant urban economy which was and has been strictly based on industries and machines. Coal, Oil and Gas Industries are the burning of fossil fuels. As we begun to burn fuels for energy, the beginning of a Global catastrophe had begun. Our future is not very promising if we do not take actions now, but world leaders are failing to recognize the tragedy at our midst. Global Warming is no longer a theory, but a fact with evidence to support this from taking a

Whether it is out of fear, ignorance, or both, this is a concerning issue. The people who can actually make a difference and have a wide reach of audience to inform and inspire are claiming that Global Warming is just a hoax. Sen. James M. Inhofe wrote a book titled, “The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future.” According to a website Inhofe’s top political contributors are oil and gas industries giving him the highest percentage of his contributions (Opensecrets.org). Not a mere coincidence, evidently, it shows why he defends the use of these high-energy fuels. Money can really drive people to do and say anything, maybe even write a book about how a global threatening issue is just a made up story scientists tell to make the world tremble. There are seemingly seen important public figures such as Donald Trump, U.S President, who believes global warming was created by and for the Chinese; Sarah Palin, former Governor of Alaska, who laughs at the thought of the fools many make of themselves when justifying it; and Rush Limbaugh, talk show host, who claims the issue to be a scam. Global Warming interferes with politicians’ agenda. Is it even wise at this point? World leaders and large public figures deny the evidence of a global threatening issue in which experts claim to be a crisis we are facing, these are the people who represent us, who can …show more content…
On 2016, hurricane season was vicious, it had greeted Florida with Tropical Storm Hermine which strengthened into a hurricane and Hawaii with two promising storms. Manuel, a climate scientist, said that the evidence suggested “climate change would cause the strongest storms to grow even stronger, and to be more frequent” (Schwartz). Hurricane Matthew was one of the most drastic hurricanes 2016 saw, with category five, fifteen billion dollars’ worth of damage, and six hundred and three fatalities. The following year was no prettier, in fact it made the world grow mad. Tragedy after tragedy, natural disasters one after the other. It was a vicious never ending cycle. With hurricanes of category 4-5 such as Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas with a category 4, Hurricane Irma in the Atlantic, and Hurricane Maria with category 5 in the Dominica and a major crisis in Puerto Rico that still
We are like boiling frogs, Failing to act against climate change. As the severity of the situation continues to increase the world is reaching catastrophic levels. The recent article, “It's not too late to stave off the climate crisis, U.N. report finds” by Lauren Sommer, uses persuasive language to alert the public that the time to act on climate change is now. The world has enough technology and solutions to fix this problem as stated in the article whilst the author uses pathos to help support the quote.
Global warming has been a growing issue to global security, with nations all around the world working to ease the soon possible negative effects. Throughout the world; many media outlets and sources online have covered and have formally addressed this topic. Each media and sources all holds bits of truths inside of them, however, all cannot be entirely unbiased. The power of the hurricane depends on how rapidly water can evaporate from the ocean. Evaporation transfers heat from the ocean into the atmosphere. Since Global warming is happening and is a very important subject to this day there is a lot of evaporation happening when there is a hurricane. Climate change will increase the amount of devastation due to hurricanes as sea levels rise because of global warming Hurricanes are the most popular in the
Careless people. For those who would rather not have their future generations live in a damaged world, which I assume is the majority, we have to act now. Global warming is overlooked but the gradual effects are going to catch up to us. It isn't a matter of “if” but “when.” Society needs to stop denying that our home is going to DIE if we don’t anything to help save it.
Hurricane harvey hit texas on the coast and killed many people. Maria hit florida, and puerto rico. And irma hit the caribbean. Why has hurricane season been so bad? Global warming.
Current Reflective Essay Paper On August 25, 2017, Hurricane Harvey made landfall on the coast of Texas. It was originally set to be a category 1 hurricane and wasn 't supposed to be that bad of a natural disaster. Although a number of adding factors made Hurricane Harvey a catastrophic event, the hurricane increased levels as it reached land which was one of the biggest impacts. The main two factors that made Harvey one of the most destructive natural disasters to ever hit the United States was all the recorder rainfall over the city of Houston and the release of the Addicks and Barker reservoirs.
INTRODUCTION Catastrophes affect humanity all the time but two of the most memorable in history are Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Harvey. Hurricanes are first seen from the satellite. This means that the hurricanes are spotted right away, it gets predicted where its going to impact first and how strong it can be when it hits the ground. These hurricanes are extremely dangerous because of its high-speed winds it comes with and the amount of rain produced by them, this makes it worst because they can last for days.
Natural disasters, especially hurricanes, can have huge effects on cities and their citizens. On September 8, 1900, a horrible disaster struck Galveston, Texas. This was very unexpected for them and caused great damage. The Great Hurricane of the 1900s affected the area it hit socially, politically, and economically.
It's sad that society can not trust their own politicians to be upfront about issues like climate change, but that is the reality we face. Instead, we have to hear the truth from entertainers like Jimmy Kimmel and Bill Nye to weed through the excessive tales of deceit for us. Additionally, NASA is backing them up. It seems they may be the only government agency that doesn't f**k with our intelligence. JIMMY KIMMEL GETS REAL ON CLIMATE CHANGE
It is estimated that ten thousand people die each year worldwide due to hurricane’s. Hurricanes are large swirling storms that produce winds of one hundred and nineteen kilometers per hour or higher. Hurricanes form over warm ocean waters and sometimes they strike land. When a hurricane reaches land, it pushes a wall of ocean water ashore, known as a storm surge. The heavy rain from the storm surge can cause extreme flooding to occur.
The global warming epidemic has been going on for several years. Which, has had many people coming out saying it is actually happening. There have been others coming out and saying it is fake. The issue that is being discussed is whether or not global warming is real or not. Al Gore was someone who did come out to say that global warming was a real, while Daniel Botkin, said that global warming was fake.
Name: Khalid Albaiji Section: SC135 TOPIC: Global Warming GENERAL PURPOSE: To Persuade SPECIFIC PURPOSE: To persuade my audience to aware them about the harmful effects of Global Warming and encourage the audience to help make a difference to stop global warming.
Climate Change is something that we have caused because of our choices to burn fossil fuels, at some point we have to face the problems that we have created. The consequences of Climate Change are horrific and Climate Change could end our existence as a species, most people do take action against Climate Change except, The Government of the United States of America, refuses to accept the serious dangers of climate change and continues releasing propaganda on Climate Change, claiming its effects are minimal and that we are not causing it. Peculiar how almost every other government in the world thinks otherwise. The reasons we are heading in the wrong direction is because the actions of humans are causing Climate Change, and almost all scientists agree on this matter. Another reason is the that the government isn’t trustworthy in what they say about Climate Change, meaning what they say about Climate Change is wrong, and we should change our policy on Climate Change.
Increasing Severity of Hurricanes The global temperature over the past century has risen 0.6 °C (1°F) while the ocean temperature has increased 0.1°C (0.18°F) (“Sea Temperature Rise,” n.d.). The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has averaged all land and sea temperatures from 1880 to 2012 and have calculated that temperatures have risen approximately 0.85°C (1.53°F) (University Corporation For Atmospheric Research, 2014). This may not seem nearly as significant because on an average day the difference between the daily high and low may be as great as twenty degrees.
We lost 36 cubic miles of ice between 2002 and 2005. The United States needs to make laws on global warming right away. Some say that we should wait to get other countries involved, but that can take a while and I think we should take the lead.
