To Strive For Greatness
In order to achieve greatness, there must be a consistent effort to act with a sense of goodness. Throughout her life Mother Teresa has shown an inexplicable determination to serve those who are poor, sick, or lonely. Her whole life was dedicated to following the path of God and was deeply rooted with the Church. All her actions exemplified the greatness she nurtured over her many years of thoughtful and remarkable work. Her lifelong actions truly prove Aristotle’s quote about greatness, “we are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” By constant effort only then will greatness be shown. Mother Teresa has shown this constant greatness through her contributions during her time in the Sisters of Loreto and Missionaries of Charity, her protestations against the sins of God, and the miracles of healing she performed after her death. She truly shows an inexplicable characteristic of greatness.
Mother Teresa has had a huge impact on the entire world. In her earlier life, she joined the Sisters of Loreto, whose mission is to educate those who do not access to these services. She did her first profession of vows, where a sister lives the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience after a two-year novitiate program. She was then sent to Calcutta to teach at St. Mary’s High School for Girls, whose students were girls from the poorest Bengali families.
