Zeus In the beginning, around 700 B.C, a magnificent god was created. In the Dikation Cave, Zeus was the sixth child born to the Titans Cronus and Rhea (Myths of Zeus). Cronus feared that one of his children would dethrone him. Because of this phobia, Cronus swallowed every child Rhea was giving birth to. When Rhea’s sixth child, Zeus, was born, she managed to trick Cronus so he would not eat her last child.
Homer’s The Odyssey follows Odysseus and his journey home from the Trojan War. Although he anticipates a short journey, Odysseus is cursed by Poseidon to suffer ten additional years at sea. On the way home, Odysseus and his crew stop at the Cyclops’s island and encounter Polyphemus, Poseidon’s son, who kills crew members by tempting them with food, and then crushing them. Odysseus tricks the Cyclops by using the pseudonym of Nobody and stabs him in the eye; however he reveals his true name at the last second, thus giving Poseidon someone to blame. The remaining crew then stumbles upon the island of the Circe, where they are taken in by the sorceress’s beautiful women and abundant food.
Prometheus is one of he most enduring figures in greek mythology, he is the one and only titan who sided with Zeus against Zeus 's father Cronus, Cronus over threw his father Ouranos by defeating him and became the new ruler of the titans, and he ends up eating all of his children and and his wife Rhea could only save one and that one was Zeus, which he defeated and forced him to throw up all his siblings out and him and his siblings defeat the titans for control of the universe. Prometheus defies the gods by helping humans, and he is most notable for bringing fire from Olympus, and the skill of metal work. Zeus devises a cruel torture for him. During that night, Odysseus and his soldiers came out of the wooden horse and attacked the city while everyone was asleep which enraged the gods. While Odysseus is trying to reach home, he encounters a human-eating Cyclopes, traveling to the Land of the Dead, finding out his mother died, and finally returning home to Ithaca but later discovered the suitors are attempting to overthrow his kingdom. Odysseus, when compared to Elon Musk, proves to be a hero through his cleverness, conflict with grief, and lessons he learned when dealing with difficulties, one must not give up and try again. Odysseus ' cleverness demonstrates that he is a hero when compared to Elon Musk. In the beginning of the story, Polyphemus imprisoned Odysseus and his men, wanting to escape the cave, Odysseus drew his "sharp sword from [his] hip/" desiring "to stab him/" then "sudden fear [linger him]: if [he] killed him/...[they]
In the beginning of The Odyssey, in the Telemachy, Telemachus is weak, and naive. The suitors bullied him around and he was too scared to do anything about it. However, it is at the end of the book that he shows his manhood. He was a weak boy when the story starts. By the end of the book, however, Telemachus, with the help of Athena, becomes the leader he is destined to be: fighting alongside Odysseus as an equal, killing the suitors.
While Odysseus was shooting his bow in a disguise to win the marriage of Penelope, Odysseus shot a man to show that this is not ok, “Odysseus’ arrow hot him under the chin and punched up the feathers through his throat,” (1234-1235). Odysseus killed a man for trying to win his wife and take over his throne when his son should have taken the throne. This matters because he is showing himself to the kingdom after his long adventure not taking this lightly. Also, when Odysseus and his men were trapped in a cave with a Cyclops who wouldn’t let Odysseus’ men out, Odysseus stepped up and “the way they make soft iron hale and hard just so that eyeball hissed around the spike,”(388-387). Odysseus stabbed the Cyclops in the eye making the eyeball hiss and making the Cyclops blind.
In The myth of Cronus,Cronus wanted all of the power and did not want to be overthrown by his kids.So Then , he wanted to make sure by deciding to eat them.Lastly, Metis gave Cronus a potion so he can vomit them up.Both the myth of Cronus and The Lightning Thief share a similar theme of Struggle for power. Amulius had always wanted to be the King, so killed Numitor and killed his 2 first sons and made her daughter a pristess so that she couldn't have any kids. Nevertheless she had twins with Mars. Later Amulius decided to put Reha in yail and send the twins to get killed in the river of Tiber. The person who was sent to kill them couldn't handle the guilty conscience so decoded to only live them floating in the river.

Poseidon When poseidon he was eaten by his father Cronus but later saved by his brother zeus who forced cronus to vomit up all of his brothers and sisters. Cronus was killed by his own children and they divided up the power of the world to each other, poseidon winning the power of the sea. Poseidon has two brothers, zeus and hades, and three sisters, hestia, hera, and demeter. Poseidon also has a wife Amphitrite.The story says poseidon “he too had numerous affairs with goddesses”(Kevin Osborn page 6) he even went as far as having a baby with medusa. Even with that Amphitrite had seven children with poseidon .
