The music of the rebellious is called punk rock. It is a genre that is mainly violent, and aggressive music for the younger generation. It started around the 1970s and is still continuing. The music has gotten more popular with the younger kids because they have serious first world problems and it makes them angry so they listen to music that also angry sounding. The music's history and culture is actually not really exciting but should be known. “Punk means many different things to different people. Green Day formed in the year 1986 and performed the first song in 1987. The lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong was very specific about the rules of the band, like how the tours and concerts needed to be back to back because when a band comes back from a little break they seem different. “For thirty years Greg Graffin has fronted the punk rock band Bad Religion, which revolutionized the genre and paved the way for the likes of Green Day”(Beckerman). The members of Green Day are Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool , and Mike Dirnt. Armstrong was the main singer and guitarist, Tre is the drummer, and Dirnt is the bass player. In 2004 they wrote a hit song called American Idiot, in 2009 Armstrong states that they lost their goofiness and they have become more apocalyptic. In 2012 Armstrong had a bad addiction problem with alcohol and pills. He went to rehab and his bass player Mike Dirnt sent him letters of encouragement to help him get through it.one of the most famous quotes by Armstrong was “Once a punk, always a punk, is really what it comes down to”(Haitt). “The Ramones, the quintessential first-generation American punk band, proudly proclaimed their disdain for history in the 1979 movie musical, Rock ’n’ Roll High School”(Turrini). The Ramones members were Johnny, Dee Dee. Joey, and Tommy. But over the years the band got new members such as C.J, Richie, and Marky.joey was the main guitarist of the Ramones Johnny was the drummer in 1974 but then he switched to being the lead vocalist, and Tommy took over the drums, Dee Dee was the bass player , C.J turned into the bass guitarist, Marky Got the position of drums, and Richie also got to play drums for the fantastic Ramones . Now for a little history lesson The Beastie Boys consist of Adam Horovitz, Adam Yauch and Mike Diamond Or their stage alias’s, Ad-Rock, MCA, Mike D. Three friends decided to make a band called The Beastie Boys. The band actually began playing hardcore punk and succeeding quite well at it. The band supported groups like The Dead Kennedy’s, The Misfits and Bad Brains. But as time went by their wondering ear began pulling the group towards artist like Grandmaster Flash, And The Sugar Hill Gang and they began obsessing over their music just like they did with the punk music they grew up on.
Guns N’ Roses’ early career was strange, like any other rock n’ roll band. Guns N’Roses was a band that took a very short time to get together. Discovering One’s Self Through Jesus of Suburbia The things that happen to teenagers can be detrimental to their discovering of who they truly are. Unfortunately, the events that can occur can have a negative impact. Billie Joe Armstrong, the lead singer and guitarist of Green Day, suffered through a very traumatic experience when he was 10 years old.
Two of the biggest groups to separate themselves from the other bands of the 1960s were the Beach Boys and the Beatles. Each had their own style of rock ’n’ roll and their own way of creating new music. The Beatles had a very British pop style at the start, which morphed into their unique style of music as they blended and mixed it with different kinds of “world music.” The band worked together to write and develop their style, which was different from the Beach Boys “whose creative center was unquestionably one member of the group” (Starr & Waterman, 305) Brian Wilson. Through Wilson, the Beach Boys developed a surfin’ style of rock ’n’ roll and like the Beatles, Wilson liked to experiment with different instruments and effects to change their sound.
They all made solo albums by themselvs. The good thing about the albums is that they all placed in the top 50. But Gene got his to the 22nd spot(Phillips &Cogan,2018). They also had a live album called called Alive with a hit song named Rock and Roll All Nite(Stambler,1974). Then of course every band has to go on tour so they went on one called World Domiation Tour.
In the 1980’s people were against punk rock musicians, someone once said, "They think we 're devil worshipers here" (Holladay). This reveals that people were against punk rock music since, punk rock musicians were called devil worshipers, and if people enjoy something they won 't insult it. People were against rock music due to it being a different type of music which was not listened to previously and some people did not enjoy modifications. Many people against rock music thought that those who played rock music worshiped the devil since it was considered a sinister type of music.
When people think of the pop punk genre Green Day and Blink 182 are two of the first to come to mind for many. Green Day is a pop punk band that was founded in 1987 and has been around since. Could really tell the cast brought their all and loved how much it truly envisioned Green Day and what their “American Idiot” album was all about”( youtube source). The spotlight on “American Idiot” did not stop there, a documentary film was born. The documentary was released to the public in New York October 11th and went worldwide October 18th 2010 (soure). “For the film Armstrong collaborated with Michael Mayer which culminated in the theatrical adaptation and has won Grammy, Tony and Drama Desk awards (source Reasoning and forcefulness is written well in one simple lyric, “The subliminal mind fuck America”.

Under the direction of band leader Billie Joe Armstrong, drummer Raj Punjani, bassist Sean Hughes, and guitarist Mike Dirnt, Green Day formed under the name of “Sweet Children” (Thomas). They would later drop the name Sweet Children in favor of Green Day, which held the meaning of “for spending a day doing nothing but smoking marijuana”. They would release their first studio album, 39/Smooth (1990), to moderate sales. After going through a few drummers, Green Day would end up signing Tré Cool from the punk band The Lookouts. Eventually, Cool became the main drummer for Green Day, resulting in the most modern version of the band to date.
So what was a Rocker? Rockers were members of a biker subculture that originated in the United Kingdom during the 1950s. (Varioua Authors , 2016) Like the Bodgies and Widgies, they were also heavily influenced by rock music and heavy metal music. They had similar morals as the Bodgies and were also perceived as dangerous rebellious teens.
In the fall of 1977, American rock fans began to hear about a movement in the UK called “punk”, spearheaded in large part by the Sex Pistols and The Clash rock bands. Between 1967 and 1975, most of the rock world was focused on psychedelia and main stream rock, punk was brewing underground. Punk rock is defined as fast loud rock music, messy guitar playing. Musicians like The Patti Smith Group and The Sex Pistols, were big punk rock groups. The Patti Smith group became the first band from the developing New York punk scene to sign a major label deal.
