Benefits: Benefits of green infrastructure are more valuable than costs. Green infrastructure has many recreational opportunities. There are many provisions of Green infrastructure like the quality of habitats, ecosystem, and features. There is the increase in volumes of carbons, reduction in soil erosion. Green infrastructure impacts on many lives of the common people like on employment, GDP and local communities. Benefits of the ecosystem were identified in 57% of projects, such as habitat enhancement and conversation of species, and socio-economic benefits and help in increasing awareness of social and environment. A step forward in green infrastructure has been in the economic evaluation. As one of the roles of this is to promote and protect …show more content…
The strategic connection of different components- parks, preserves, wetlands and other green spaces- is vital in maintaining the ecological balance. Further integrating green infrastructure with other developments related to smart cities helps in building a sustainable community.
Critical public investment: The function and benefits of green infrastructure are well known. Recognizing the public benefits is an important first step in providing adequate funding. Green infrastructure provides solutions that address both human needs and benefit the environment and community. State funding is important but not enough, local communities need to rely on locally generated funds as a long term funding source.
Planning for Long Term Operations and Maintenance: Both gray and green infrastructure requires establishment of clear duties of maintenance, a funding mechanism and inspection system. The green infrastructure, however, will also require additional maintenance practices, such as those required to properly identify plants and maintain plants. In addition, green infrastructure is well suited for workforce development programs to create local jobs because of a growing need for employees with skills to install and maintain site-scale

Many administrations are skeptical of their long term performance. Also there is a perception of conflict with the concept of ‘smart growth’. Many local governments are reluctant to pursue green infrastructure because they are unfamiliar with its maintenance requirements. The placement of green infrastructure practices on private property also poses challenges. Local administration are in best position to overcome these challenges. Developing a pilot program which focuses on;
• Recognizing multiple benefits of green infrastructure
• Recognizing the economic factors in developing such infrastructure
• Recognizing the maintenance costs of the developed infrastructure
• Developing a maintainence program and outreach programs for private property owners.
Can ease the problems that might arise while developing green infrastructure.

Introduction As the administrator of Mainstay Medical Center, I will create a mission and vision statement for the organization, identify strategic goals and recommend strategies that will be effective in achieving the goals of the organization. In this paper, I will also identify strategies to gain a competitive advantage with other organization while ensuring goals for Mainstays Medical Center to remain successful. Mission and value statements for Mainstays Medical Center Mission statements are the beginning of an organization’s planning and goal setting process. A mission statement should align with the fundamental values of the consumers and the population it serves as well as the beliefs and competitive positions.
The bypass system is a positive thing for tourism, because if there were no bypass there would be not as much tourism, which would affect economy of the Gold coast. The bypass means that the beaches are sandy and magnificent which appeals to the tourist, therefore the increase of the amount of people visiting the area means that the local business increases their sales and become more profitable and the economy booms. The impact of tourism due to the bypass affects the environment, because the pollution increases and the crowds increase, there is also an increase of buildings. The social impact of tourisms is that because the bypass is making the beaches nicer, the Gold coast beaches are over packed as well as the streets, restaurants and hotels. Causing the Gold coast to become over populated and not enough room for everyone to live near the beach.
For example: In Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood, there is soon to be the development of a Back Lot with the hopes to attract tourist and create revenue. This is also in effort to utilize old factories and use them as film and production studios. Developments such as the “Eco Square” are also considering moving into Douglas park, another one of Chicago’s Westside communities. The “Eco Square” is a 419,000 housing development that is being built on the idea of green sufficiency and to house 150 residences over 5 acres of land. There is also a proposal that either the Hyde Park / Woodlawn area or Chicago’s UIC Flames campus might receive the presidential library.
Pollution is starting to be a major problem in the United States. The main problem begins in cities or highly populated areas and it can occur because of car exhaust, emissions from manufacturing companies, cigarette smoke, biological pollutants, etc. One way Sophie Krause proposes to solve at least a part of the problem is to “Go Green with Blue Roofs.” She proposes that people change the structure of their roof in order to help the draining systems. The water will filter better and public waterways will be safer to drink from.
Government need to intervene at the areas of urban extensions and new towns which combined Central and Local
Incorporating analysis’s from material provide in the Development and the City course at the University of Guelph, it is believed that a significant issues is the means to which governments invests in their people. Within cities, municipal governments are often more interested in modernizing than addressing the major structural concerns mentioned above. Furthermore, social inequalities do not just expand across cities, rather this is a problem that engulf the entire nation, which Boo also points to. This can especially be seen when
I agree with the assertion that in the context of Sustainable Development ‘the reality of life today is that the economy dominates environment and society. The Concept of Sustainable Development Sustainable development refers to “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs”, and was produced by the Brundtland report (WCED, 1987). The concept also takes into account the needs of the poor in developing countries by outlining achievable objectives of importance (WCED, 1987).
Such a change would significantly reduce the energy consumption of the country and lead to decrease in consumer expenditure. In addition to economic benefits during the period of ever-increasing prices, energy efficient construction is environmentally-friendly as it does not emit harmful carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Almost none of the fuel sources that we could use provide Co2 or other pollutants. Economic values could also come from renewable energy. Most of the Energy projects are located away from big cities. These benefits could bring local service as well as tourism. Although the pros are very big there are some cons.
EIAs promote the development that is sustainable and maximizes the usage of resources and management opportunities (Glasson, 1999). EIA is recognized internationally as an imperative tool to be used in guiding individuals on the path to sustainable development. Therefore, a crucial purpose of an EIA is to promote environmentally sound and sustainable development through the identification of appropriate enhancement and mitigation measures (UNEP, 2002). EIA has to ensure that development proposals do not challenge critical resources and ecological functions, welfare, lifestyle and livelihood of the communities and people who depend on them (UNEP,
