Greenway hotel began in 1946 as a house style, then they had sold a house and opened their first a hotel in 1947. Recently, The chief executive of Greenway Hotels decided to acquired a small chain of hotels in Germany to had a decision to make half of the hotels to be rebrand. On the other hand, the other half will be traded, so that can help Greenway Hotel Group to be enough supported in their new ventures and they can open on the time and on budget, so the manager will be able to get his plan by own more than 300 hotels in 10 years later.

Greenway needs to provide some training to reduce culture shock for the employees together with family. By implement Polycentric strategy into Greenway Hotel group, which could make greenway managers to be more flexible and move easily into multiple countries without having any issues. The cost that was required by IHG for rebranding all its hotels was about $1 billion from which the organisation was able to cover only 6%. This means that the remaining cost had to be financed by the local owners of the hotels or by the bank. The financing from local owners was difficult because of credit crunch because the investment companies or bank were not offering debts or loans to the investors. The owners of the hotel argued that they had to face downturn in their business because of credit crunch as well as because of tight cash flow, which occurred due to drop in the business. Hence, this period of financial crisis was very critical for IHG and for the owners of the hotels operating all over world.
