Grit is often considered to be the strength of your character. That means you have the ability to keep going, even when faced with an obstacle. You have to be willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. However, grit and talent are two different things.
Personally, I believe I have grit. I am hard working and often perceived as a leader within my grade and school. I like to consider myself as an honor student, considering I have a 4.3 GPA, which means I have to study and do homework. However, I am a part of so much more. I am a member of the band, and a member of jazz band, the sound technician in theatre, and I am an active member of Student Council and the Every Monday Matters Committee. All of these involve time and effort, and I do my best to help the most I can for each club. Although I may not be the best in everything I do, I have grit. I am willing to do whatever I can to be as successful as I can.

However, I still believe I need to change my ways. Although I do apply effort, I wait to commit until the last minute. I am a major procrastinator and tend to wait to do everything until the night it is due, as this paper … I know I will not be able to get through life like this, and I intend to use my grit to make time to get things done as soon as possible, even if I also have other things to do. I think by doing this, I will get better results because I would have more time to work and make the project or paper better.
Everything in life has obstacles that everyone has to face. I like to think of this as a natural selection because it is a test to see who will find a way to work around it. These are the people with grit. The people who lack grit will give up or stand back and allow another to solve the problem.
