Guaranty Building The Guaranty Building, now called the Prudential Building, is an early skyscraper in Buffalo, New York. Completed in 1896, it was designed by Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler and at the leading adge of American architecture and skyscraper design. Louis H. Sullivan was probably the most important American architect of the 19th century and is considered the “ Father of the Skyscraper.” He stressed bold simplicity combined with rich ornamentation in his building (Ching, et al. 2011). Recognized as an outstanding example of Sullivan’s innovations, the Guaranty Building special design and features.
