Caudillos are a major factor in how latin americas government was established and brought to what it is now. Caudillos are mainly the ranchers that lived on the plains and made a living from the land. Buenos Aires was a very civilized society compared to internal Argentine area. My opinion is that this vast area of plains wouldn 't have been civilized if it wasn 't for these gaucho leaders causing problems and the impact of Buenos Aries upon the lacking internal Argentine area. Argentinas vast area of ranches and farming potential could have been utilized to attribute to further success of Buenos Aries I feel like.
The Virginian rebellion of 1676 named after Nathaniel Bacon, targeted Governor William Berkeley. Although many historians speculate that the rebellion aimed to satisfy a personal vendetta of Bacon’s against Governor after the Governor allegedly showed favoritism towards other members of the court Bacon was a part of, the rebellion portrayed itself as retaliation against Governor Berkeley’s apparent ignorance and inaction against Native American attacks against settlements on the frontier, caused by a mismanagement of taxes. The taxes protected only the upper class and only made the already poor citizens of Virginia poorer, denying the poor civic comforts and martial security. Whatever the reason, the rebels in Bacon’s Rebellion intended to
In the 1950s, Texas was at the forefront of two major, but very different civil rights movements—the African-American movement and the Mexican-American movement. Fighting Their Own Battles by Brian Behnken describes and compares the separate battles for rights of the two movements. People in Texas knew what was happening and newspapers reported about the different events that occurred throughout the 1950s. In hindsight, and with the help of Behnken’s book, one is able to see the subtle influences of both civil rights movements in the Texas newspapers. At the time however, these differences in strategy between the African-American and Mexican-American movements were not so easily understood.
