Martin Luther King Jr and Senator Robert F. Kennedy which led to the creation of the Gun Control Act in 1968. Furthermore, there have recently been some mass shooting incidents that have brought about huge debates on the issue of gun control. These debates emphasize the need to strengthen the gun control laws that are currently in place, which are meant to regulate the buying, selling, and owning of gun. Lastly, even though gun control goes against the right given to individuals by the second amendment, having stricter gun control laws is beneficial for the safety of the nation because gun control can significantly decrease the number of deaths that occur because of mass shootings and gun control can also prevent students from shooting up schools. The enforcement of stricter gun control laws would be extremely beneficial for the safety of the people in the United States.
In the United States of America certain regulations are definitely necessary for public safety. The regulations are there to better the nation and not further control it. The government can not get rid of everyone 's right to own and keep a gun but, they can simply control the amount of guns able to be purchased. Therefore, the government is not taking away peoples guns but, simply regulating those who can or cant not own them to better protect the citizens of America. And thus any remarks about the government taking away peoples guns are untrue, the government is doing this for everyone 's well
Gun’s need to be handled carefully Gun owners need background checks. When a gun is handled, it should be handled carefully as it can cause destruction. Gun owners, need background checks as to make sure they aren’t mentally ill or have done bad deeds in the past. A events happened where a gun was stored in a book bag and it was shot on accident inflicting damage to a nearby student, this could have been avoided. In owning a gun many are check for background information, but these protocols are not as good they need to be strengthen.Guns need to be handled carefully or it could very well cause a disaster, and checks need to be stronger to make sure guns do not fall into the wrong hands.
The general argument made by Paul Waldman in his work, “The Case For Banning Guns,” is that gun control should be put into effect and certain firearms should be banned. More specifically, Waldman argues that abandoning these guns could decrease mass shootings and make America a much safer environment. He writes, “Yes, I’d like to ban guns. Almost all of them, at least the ones in private hands.” In this passage, Paul is suggesting that the United States would be much better off abandoning these weapons that leave communities with so much blood and gore. He believes private gun ownership should be rare and strictly regulated, just like the gun laws in Europe and Asia.
Guns are slowly but surely becoming the leading cause of death in America. We can all agree that guns are to be used for protection, yet somehow not everyone sees it that way. The corruption and power hunger that comes along with owning a gun has set a fear in the hearts of millions of Americans. Why
Firearms have been part of American life for as long as people can recall. Most people assume that guns are supposed to be very dangerous, risky and harmful. However, that is not true; guns can be unsafe and dangerous, but only if they are in the wrong hands, in that case anything could be dangerous if it’s in the wrong hands. Owning a gun is a right that every American should be able to take pride in having. Guns are used for self-defence, resistance, hunting, and law enforcement and also it has its other uses too.
Brad Pitt has said in the past "I feel better having a gun. I don't feel the house is completely safe, if I don't have one hidden somewhere." Also, Washington DC attorney general Karl A Racine said that, “We believe that the District’s gun laws are reasonable and necessary to ensure public safety in a dense urban area.” The actual problem is not the gun, it’s the person. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. This is a very common statement used by many people.
Positive Impact of Guns In America Americans have the privilege and the right to purchase and own personal firearms for the means of self defense. Some citizens, however, exploit this right for the sole purpose of harming those around them. Mass shootings are some of the most common and terrifying events that can happen to someone in America today. Despite all the harm that guns cause, they should not be banned because they also have many positive effects for the American people that we would not want to lose. One reason to keep guns in the hands of the people is fairly simple, but its impact is highly underestimated: guns stop criminals and in some cases prevent the crime before it even begins.
If people continue to talk about gun control along with the president, maybe congress can agree on passing the bill in hopes of becoming a law, so that everyone can keep and buy guns. The 2nd amendment is still to be enforced and many citizens need to reread their right because many are abusing their right to carry firearm publicly. When the background checks become stricter and the age limit changes, less events and crime could probably reduce. It may be hard, but the nation would be
Guns. Today this such a controversial topic in politics, mainly between the Republican and the Democrats. Guns have been part of American since its founding. Today, there is a lot more gun violence than there has been in our past, and this is causing big debate today. Guns are NOT the problem, People are the problem.
Dhrumil Patel Prof: kevin Eddings English Comp. 1 Date: April, 18th 2017 Gun Control in United Sates Gun Control is the most debated argument in United States of America today. Many government officials still hold to the 2nd Amendment, which bluntly states, "... the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." This being part of the Constitution, it bears a lot of credibility. According to be this is not right because from this government is giving too much people freedom to people.
Politicians talks about the need to increase gun restrictions to stop gun crime, but new and current gun laws are designed to fail in order to allow certain people to own them and make unhappy because of not having a vote others. We 've got to stop the madness! The problem isn 't the guns, it 's the criminals
However, it is crucial to identify how this fallacy plagues our society; a gun is a gun, it is a weapon designed for the purpose of ending someone’s life. Due to their hazardous nature, guns must always be kept in the hands of responsible users; therefore, people diagnosed with severe mental illnesses should not be allowed to possess or carry firearms. Our society has partially realized this notion, as indicated by the Gun Control Act passed by Congress in 1968, forbidding people who “had been involuntarily committed to a mental hospital” from purchasing guns (Webster 35). However, it must be stressed that the control implemented by this act is not enough, as mentally-disabled people are still misusing firearms and creating massacres across this
Throughout history, especially recently, the question of whether gun control violates the 2nd Amendment has been a question which many people claim they know the answer to, but it may not be that transparent. I believe gun control is constitutional, and it deters crime and makes society safer, meaning I side with the pro-gun control ideas. Within the topic of gun control, there are many factors in which people must take into consideration when proposing an answer such as whether it deters crime, what the economic impact is, and what should be changed. NEW PARAGRAPH...Gun control can date way back, but what really made it controversial was the court case of Heller vs DC in 2008. The court case went up to the Supreme Court, where it was decided
Some of the society needs to recognize in-state Manning fully that legally owning or selling guns only puts another life at risk.It will decrease the amount of mass crimes that are being committed in the United States.Studies have shown When the government outlawed something that huge, number of people very much want that outlawed item even more. This has been shown countless of times(Reed Fred,2).The endless debating conflicts in death caused by guns are why many states in order to The endless debating conflicts in death caused by guns are why many states in order to decrease the rate of violence should limit access to handguns.not only is it the government 's fault, but the people who ignore the symptoms of such mentally ill person.
