Gangs are basically a family if you really think about it. Others would join because they need protection. They probably got themselves into something not good and need someone to protect them and/or their families. It’s easy to join a gang but not as easy to leave one if you just wanted to join it for protection. Also, these kids come from at the bottom of society.
The theory that best support gang violence is the conflict delinquent subculture. Conflict delinquent subculture is a subculture in which youth oppose the mainstream through violence, underground economies and/or gang activity because of a lack of opportunities to succeed. Majority gangs are in low class neighborhoods where the kids there don’t have much offered to them. These adolescents are usually not completely loved and cared for within their households so they turn to the streets for “love” in gangs. These juveniles believe that once they gain a gang their going to be protected at all times by any counts, they mistake this for love.
Jenkins explicitly states that “America has to own this problem”. She then lists reasons for juvenile criminals to be a problem particular to America. Readers can easily counter Jenkins original argument by employing logical reasoning: if America is responsible for juvenile criminals, it is immoral to sentence juveniles to life without parole because these “criminals” are only followers of a greater cultural phenomenon. Furthermore, this is evident in the case of Lionel Tate. Tate was only twelve years old when he allegedly murdered six year old Tiffany Eunick while mimicking a wrestling move portrayed in popular media.
When people make choices that could drastically change their life, the decision they make is based on the influence of others. In the novel, The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton a gang called the Greasers is stereotyped as being the “mean types” that slack off at school. Then there are the Socs who are the rich kids with cool cars that happen to like “jumping” greasers. As these two gangs are rivaling, they both go through some dramatic events that change their perspectives on life. In the novel The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton the character Darrel Curtis is unquestionably influenced by his gang as it prevents him from being successful to becoming the father of the gang, and overall being someone to look up to.
Gangs. What do you think of gangs? Have you ever stopped and wondered why there are young teenagers who join gangs and commit crimes? From a juvenile delinquent’s perspective, their violent actions may not seem immoral. Joining a gang could provide a sense of belonging.
Even the young ones who are supposed to be in school get involved in the gang activities. Though the gang leaders have money and guns from selling drugs and committing robberies they are not so rich because their business is only limited inside the city of God, in this city where nobody owns so much money. John Rawls maxim of theory is visible where the people here, especially the young ones are behind the veil of ignorance. They are ignorant of their real position in the society that they intend to enter into contract with the associations they think are good or right. For example, the Runts who are
Thrasher has analyzed these gangs in many ways to the extent or romantic life in gangs. He helped us distinguish the difference in stereotype gangs and then the actual facts involving them. Children are afraid to walk across the street because of gang violence.
The settings of a family which has a negative effect on family and boys. Mainly what the characters are inclined to do against each other, the dysfunctional family life and the one parent family. The story has increased my knowledge about gangs and the impact on boys, that positivity of one person is better than the adversity of a gang. The author Scott Monk message to boys is being in a gang, especially a criminal gang is a futile, it is informative in regards that boys can do positive things in their life, that the need to turn their back on gangs and violence. Another aspect is that fighting amongst each gang is fostering a criminal environment.

In the United States, every year there are around 2,000 gang-related homicides and in the realistic fiction novel, The Outsiders, by S. E. Hinton, it explores the issues of gang violence, and teenagers in gangs. Around 40% of all members in gangs are teenagers who are getting involved in some dangerous experiences early in life. In the novel, The Outsiders, the “Greasers”, which is a gang of all teenagers, fight other gangs and commit serious crimes such as assault. It is quite apparent that youth getting roped into gangs is a huge problem and can only lead to two things, jail or death. Many youth feel like gangs want them and will take care of them. When in all reality the gangs could care less about them, they just use youths to do their dirty work and they are deposable. The only way to stop this problem and get youth the help they need is to create and upkeep programs that actually care about the kids and get them out of gangs or get them before they are in gangs. Programs that would get to youths before they are involved with gangs is a very important part in keeping them safe.
Black people killed by police were also significantly more likely to have been unarmed” (Laughland, Swaine and Lartey). There are reasons that why they are racism against black people because they keep killing them. Every year, the statistics are highest that the police officers because of racism kill unarmed black people. “32% of black people killed by police in 2015 were unarmed, as were 25% of Hispanic and Latino people, compared with 15% of white people killed” (Laughland, Swaine and Lartey). Police officers do not like them and have no respectful for them because they are black people.
In the newspaper article Youth Gangs Leading Cause of Delinquencies written by Gene Sherman for the Los Angeles Times, Sherman hits many hard facts regarding the relationship between the youth of the time and the local gangs. Overtime the largely popular Zoot Suits became a badge of delinquency, with more and more of our youth donning these new relaxed and mobile suits they where just assumed to belong to a gang even if they had no official gang ties. “Motives for gang warfare are ridiculous in adult eyes but sometimes lead to planned an bloody fighting” With little to no provocation a war could break out on the street. Just for looking at someone the “wrong” way could end with a knife in your gut. The Zoot Suits themselves were not to
This is the most deadliest gang in the world. This gang started up in California and they have well over 70,000 members. The Mara Salvatrucha is known for drug smuggling, black market gun sales, theft, contract killing, human trafficking, and assault, especially on law enforcement. This gang doesn 't care if your are a child or women they will still kill you and don 't think about you. I always wondered why do gang members wear similar color and wear so many tattoos.
In order to prevent individuals from committing crimes its best to keep these individuals preoccupied with important things. For example, from my own personal experience I joined the wrestling team to keep me busy and to help keep me in shape. But it also taught me self discipline and determination. In addition it saved me from a bad path I was heading to. If the city provided funds for kids to join school groups and provided money for programs, more kids would be off the streets and doing something productive.
