People like Russ Moore, a school principle and an avid gun owner, suggest that proposing a law that allows teachers to carry a gun around school will not just cause concerns but more mishaps because of the lack of training. This approach would require to place guns in each school is the bill was passed also-guns that will be used inappropriately. For a gun that needs to be accessible, this means that guns in school will be accessible in each room in a school campus.
There are accidental deaths that happen everyday where a child accidentally shoots him or herself or someone else. One of the most dangerous myths of America’s gun debate is that passing federal gun control laws is the only way to prevent gun violence and save lives and that therefore the issue is hopeless and nothing will change. Another big way to reduce gun violence is Demand that
I feel like the students on campus that had a concealed weapon on them could end up being a victim if there ever was a shooting. For example, if law enforcement saw a man trying to shoot the shooter with his concealed weapon and they shoot the concealed weapon guy not knowing he was not the actual shooter, then that brings up a whole different situation of not knowing who was the shooter and who was trying to help until it is too
“Guns do not kill people, the mentally ill do,” said conservative commenter Anne Coulter. Is there a common link between mental disorders and massive shootings? It is very complicated to prove that mental illness caused any massive shootings, and to prove that if they had the right psychiatric attention that they would not have committed these horrific mass shootings crimes. The Sandy Hook elementary school shooting was done by a man named Adam Lanza in Newtown Connecticut in December of 2012.
April 16, 2007, started as a normal day. Virginia Tech students rushed to their classrooms to avoid being late, but little did they know the tragedy that was going to take place that dreadful day. Shortly after 10:00am 32 students lives had been taken by one of their fellow classmates. After the shooter ruthlessly shot and killed each one, he took his own life. April 16 will forever be recognized as a day of mourning and remembrance, but also as a day where we come together as a nation and overcome the defying odds we were left with.
Being that someone could overpower you and take your weapon and that’s why most gun carriers still want to keep their guns hidden so that the surprise is taken to your advantage not theirs. Beings said three percent of Texas population has gotten their license and that’s still rising for them and all over the country. These are just some of the big gun topics that the country is talking about that really need to be cleared up with the public for a better understanding of how the gun law works and all of the rules that gun enthusiast have to go through and learn most people don’t realize that they go through intense training for this right and we are not uneducated about this
During the National Rifle Association (NRA) Press Conference on December 21, 2012, Executive Vice President Wayne Lapierre, speaks out against these activists and exclaims “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.” After hearing about the tragedy, Lapierre wants every school in America to deploy a protection program to keep its students safe. The NRA faces criticism from all over America, about how they are to blame, but Lapierre puts the blame on video games and violent movies such as, “American Psycho” and “Natural Born Killers.” He questions, “Isn’t fantasizing about killing people as a way to get your kicks really the filthiest form of pornography?” Lapierre is willing to give training to both students and teachers on the proper precautions
Non supporters of concealed carry on campus have great counter arguments for the pro-gun supporters. Someone carrying a weapon can be easily disarmed. A weapon can go off accidentally through negligent discharge. According to ConcealedCampus.org, “Among the more than 150 college campuses that currently allow concealed carry, there have been three accidental/negligent discharges—two by faculty/staff and one by a student. Two of the negligent discharges were the result of the license holder carrying the gun in a pants pocket without a holster (both of these incidents resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to the license holder’s leg), and one was the result of the license holder showing a new gun—a gun with which she was not yet familiar—to her coworkers (this incident resulted in only minor abrasions that did not require medical attention)”.
1, 2, 3, 4, Gun Massacres could be knocking at ones school doors. Since 2011 school shootings and other related crimes have been increasing. The two articles goals are to show that the NRA (National Rifle Association) has been selling high leveled guns to anybody without needing a permit. The two articles are both saying how easy it is to access guns without needing a background check. The article “We Call BS” is written by Emma Gonzalez and the article “Guns In America” is written by Bloomberg.
John Lott stated, “With just two exceptions, at least since 1950, all the multiple victim public shootings in the United States have taken place where guns are banned.” Many public shootings happen in places where guns are not permitted such as: schools, shopping malls, and some military bases. A killer is more likely to attack when he/ she knows everyone in the setting is unarmed. The chances of stopping the killer are very slim when everyone is defenseless.
Hello Family, Yesterday I went to a training in regards to the new open carry gun law. It is a very disturbing and dangerous law. The law basically states that a license person may carry a gun openly in public. There are some exceptions to this law. The person must have the gun in a holster when carried on his body.
After the tragic and cold-hearted school killings at Sandy Hook Elementary School, in Newtown, Connecticut, 20 children and 6 adult staff members were fatally shot. The number of school shootings within the past few decades has risen dramatically, which is just not acceptable. How can anyone accept the thoughtless cruelty with these young precious lives being treated like they are replaceable?
Mental illness significantly affects many around the world. In fact, about four-hundred and fifty million people worldwide suffer from one or more of the different known mental illnesses. That is one in every four people. Severe mental health issues such as severe anxiety disorder, antisocial personality disorder, schizophrenia, or sensory perception disorder are illnesses which are common among the people responsible for the numerous mass shootings in America. Many believe the possession of firearms in the hands of the mentally ill are the real cause of mass shootings.
7:15 A.M., Emily Hilscher arrives at her dormitory on the Virginia Tech campus. In a matter of minutes, resident dorm adviser, Ryan Christopher Clark is dead, and Hilscher is fatally wounded. 7:30 A.M. Investigators arrive following a 911 emergency call reporting a shooting. 9:40 A.M. The attacker begins to open fire using a .22 caliber Walther P22 and 9 millimeter Glock 19 handgun.
The person schooled shootings letting off guns, firings have brought to a head the reason why people are motivated to be involved in school shootings. In 2015 by oneself, there have been many more school shootings throughout America. This has brought awareness around the country among the students and families. Violence in television, movies, and computer games has desensitized young people to violence acts. I have believed the school shootings were in gun free zones.
