HTC is known for its unique designs, and innovative features in its smartphones. HTC from incentive in 1997, has been through various organizational and managerial advancements. Due to various reasons, HTC over the years is facing a decline in the international mobile market share. Those reasons are explained, validated and discussed in this essay. HTC are very bad at cost cutting. Mobile patent development is nothing but generating revenue for its company. When a company could develop a new feature for its mobile and in order for other companies to use the feature pays royalty to the mother company with patent rights. Initially HTC Case Study 5 HTC lagged in patent right hence payed a high amount royalty to Nokia and Blackberry to introduce their features into HTC. Recommendation 1: Investing on Innovation department Article 1: Adapting to black swan events This is one of the important step needed to be taken by HTC to grow in market. In order to survive the tremendous competition in mobile market, innovation is the key. People prefer newer, faster and unique versions of mobile gadgets over older, slower versions. They would not hesitate to buy a new mobile though they own a mobile already if the new one is better in performance compared to their mobile.
