1 Executive Summary This report examines Hindustan Unilever Limited with main focus on Detergent segment, which is a major revenue generating segment. HUL has been the market leader for many years in this segment. This report showcases macro and micro environment for HUL. There is a huge market for detergents in India. HUL, with the brand name it has, should cash in on the situation. This report consists of situational and industrial analysis for HUL. For situational analysis, PESTL (Political, Economic, Social, Technological, and Legal) analysis has been used. Industrial analysis has been done using the Porter’s Five Force framework. 2 Company Overview Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) is a subsidiary of Unilever with about 50 % shareholding.
