You don't have to be the star quarterback or the pointguard. You just have to look the part. If your kids are into sports, then why not suggest that they go out trick or treating as a team-complete in their athletic uniforms. This also goes for cheerleading attires.
2 - The Ghost
You've seen it in the cartoons, so why not try it in real life. Get an old white sheet and cut out eye holes. You're a ghost! The getup is not complete without moans and groans, so practice your moaning and groaning before midnight. You can add chains for that tormented soul effect.
3 - Ninja
Get a ski mask and wear an all-black attire. If you have a toy sword (or maybe even a decorative sword), then wear it on your belt. Now what makes you a ninja is not only your attire. Try to move stealthily around all day. Move against walls and don't get caught in plain sight of people. When you cross the lawn, don't walk. Tumble!
4 - Mad Scientist
Wear an old white lab coat and eyeglasses. For effect, mess up your hair and set it with mousse or gel. Bring test tubes and beakers wherever you go. Think of Dr. Emmet Brown from Back to the Future. Now that's a crazy costume idea.
5 - The Backwards
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” is a question every little kid is familiar with. Doctors, singers, and astronauts are all common answers, but what about a research scientist? John Barry writes about this occupation with the purpose of informing the public and maybe inspiring the little ones. In his New York Times Best Selling Book, The Great Influenza, Barry accounts purposeful syntax, such as anaphora, expressive analogies, and clear cause and effect to display the hardships of scientific research. John Barry employs anaphora in order to emphasize the characteristics needed for scientific research, which can be very difficult to achieve.

Let the children have fun exploring what costume they would like to wear & play time to explore the differences, colours, jewels etc on each costume. Have them sit down & discuss the differences by writing a few things down about the costume, which culture it came from, are they colourful or do they have special jewels, head pieces etc. I think this is an exciting group activity to explore differences & educate the children at the same time! *Perhaps if their appears to be issues between children having a group discussion about differences can help alleviate the issues & help the children understand these differences.

Halloween is a time when many good and bad memories are created. I remember the importance of picking a costume when I was younger. I always wanted to be different and was afraid someone else would have the same costume. One year I found a cheap pirate costume at Walmart. I was excited to make my debut as a pirate when I saw three other girls had planned on wearing the same costume.
One of the most-awaited moments of the year is right here once again. Dim neighborhoods are brightened by ghastly smiles of Jack-o '-lanterns in communities where the breeze is also slowly getting colder and the leaves that have fallen off of pines give each step a crunch. In a few days, children dressed like pirates, princesses, ghouls, and little monsters will be knocking on doors requesting goodies and several other goodies. So don’t worry if you didn’t wear your costumes, you can buy them at Salem.
