Often repeated phrase ‘harmony within diversity‘ is true more so in case of Malaysia which consists of different languages and culture. If you look around the globe all nations have different traditions and ethnicity however almost all of them trade with each other and live in harmony. Geographical features on the planet include deserts, oceans, lands and rocks complementing each other.Ever since the dawn of modern civilization,people nowadays are always talking discussing about harmony within diversity must be nurtured and cherished.Harmony withinin diversity can be defined as all races and communities live in harmony and unity in a plural society. Therefore, the responsibility for us as Malaysians to cultivate and appreciate it. …show more content…

Certainly there are already embedded in our thinking about the race riots that occurred on 13 May 1969 that occurred in our country. At that time, all leaders and people have tried to end the problem. So, all the people in the country should adopt the concept of unity of races.Even with the unity of races also can guarantee peace in the country. This is so because, a United society could live to each other and to respect other races in line with Malaysia 's foreign policy enacted after World War II, it is thus able to guarantee the peace.For example , the Chinese respect the customs and culture of the Malays and Indians . It is undeniable , though the country has adopted the concept of unity , there is another small riots that occurred in the country such as street demonstrations in connection with the ISA . Clearly, not only unity is the key to harmony and peace enjoyed by the people and even the mind and thoughts also should be filled with positive values that do not apply hostility.

To put in a nutshell, there are many ways and importance of harmony within diversity among Malaysians.The community should work together and compromise as well as the adoption of traditional practices as well as cooperation between schools, the mass media and the Government for maintaining harmony in multi-ethnic
