President Harry S. Truman In one of the most tough times of US history April 12, 1945 Harry S. Truman became our 33rd president after the death of one of in my opinion the most influential and compassion presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt. Throughout his time in office his views on refining the economy and the best interest of the US was clear, which mirrored the determination and conviction of Franklin Roosevelt. Another confident president was in office.

America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand.” This quote means that America was not built with fear it was built with a lot of courage and the imagination of a good Country and we have the determination to do whatever is thrown at us. Truman gained the opportunity to become the new vice presidential candidate for the Democratic party after Roosevelt let Henry A. Wallace go. Wallace’s liberal views went against much-needed support for Roosevelt’s campaign from conservative democrats. Thanks to his time as a senator, Truman was a favorable candidate for Vice President. The Democrats won the election and Roosevelt was inaugurated on January 20th, 1945 for his fourth term as President.
On October fourteenth of 1890, a new hero, Dwight D. Eisenhower, was born in Denison, Texas (Marc Frey, 2013). Although Eisenhower was born in Texas, he grew up a poor young boy in Abilene, Kansas. As a little boy, he dreamed of becoming a professional baseball player, but little did he know, bigger things were coming his way. After graduating high school, Eisenhower attended school at West Point, which started his love for the military (Marc Frey). At the age of 25, Eisenhower graduated from West Point.

Eisenhower did many things for the war such as the success of the allied attack in North Africa when he became a general. And later he even had success on the invasion of Sicily and the Italian mainland (History.com). And because of these great accomplishments he was made “A full general in early 1943”(History.com).

He made companions rapidly and soon ended up running for a seat speaking to the twenty-first region in the New York State Assembly.

President Harry Truman gave an executive order in 1945 to drop to atomic bombs in popular downtown cities in Japan. With the guidance of many scientists and political leaders President Truman made the extremely tough decision to drop the bombs. After listening to arguments from both sides President Truman came to the conclusion that dropping bombs would be the best thing to do for this war. It would also show that the United States had an extreme military power. Many American politicians were for the idea of dropping the bomb, because they believed that it was the only way to end the war and get Japan to surrender.
