End Hate, Appreciate! Hate crimes are usually started because of someone 's race or religion, but today hate wears multiple faces. Our world 's history is and has been filled with prejudice against people or groups because of their race, religion, sexual orientation, or other qualities. As a nation, we have made a ton of progress to fight these prejudices, but unequal treatment still persists. Even though hate may happen every day, there are people across our country that are continuously fighting hate, rising up against it with greater numbers and voices than the ones who had spewed the original words of poison. Anyone can help to prevent hate speech and its psychological impacts, including you and me. Let me take you on a journey and show you how you can help to prevent hate, its long-term impacts, and learn about someone who has found the strength to work for and find solutions to the hate that infects our modern world every day. Hate happens every day, and what some people don 't know is that they can prevent it from happening by doing a few simple things. To prevent hate crimes you can start by doing three simple things; first, you need to educate yourself on the matter. In conclusion, the lesson of the story is that we need to take a stance, whether it is right or wrong and we need to speak our minds in our free society and make sure that we never allow what happened during the holocaust, where 6 million Jews died because people were too scared to stand up to a government that slowly took control of them, happen again.
