Lifestyle can include various factors; however I have chosen to focus on nutrition, smoking and substance use.
Nutrition: Nutrition can affect our health and wellbeing greatly for example overeating foods that are unhealthy and high in fat content can increase the risks of type 2 diabetes and being overweight can bring many other serious health problems such as;
• Coronary heart disease
• Hypertension
• Depression
• Cancers
• High blood pressure

One of the most amazing thing that this planet own is the food we all love to share and enjoy. There are various foods around the world and they are amazing but they are also unhealthy. The food is so amazing temps one to have more and more because of how good and tasty it is no matter how unhealthy it is. Mr. Michael Pollon describes the dangers of consuming too much of something and how it affects us by comparing and contrasting the republic of alcohol and fat while also using logos and ethos.

For those who may not have as large of an income as other Canadians, access to to healthy food can be difficult. Prepackaged and and fast food tend to be more readily available and a cheaper alternative to nutritious options. In turn, the consumption of fast food and prepackaged food can lead to many health issues, such as obesity, diabetes, or high blood pressure. Another area of underlying health contributors is living conditions. Those who are living in low socio-economic status may have living conditions that expose more health risk factors.
Comparison of how socio-economic status and education systems influence prevalence of type 2 diabetes in Sweden compared to America. Type 2 diabetes is a metabolic disease which is the leading cause of kidney failure, and a major contributor of heart disease and stroke in the America (Walker et al. 2014). Obesity, physical inactivity and poor diet are the most common factors attributed to the cause of diabetes. The prevalence of diabetes in America is 10.3% compared to 5.2% (Shaw, Sicree & Zimmet 2010). These numbers are significant as the prevalence in America is almost double to the prevalence in Sweden, therefore it is important to analyse the factors which cause this difference between the 2 countries.
Over recent years, the United States obesity epidemic has increased in abundance to the point where an individual should be worried about making healthier life choices. Eating habits are an immense reason why our health has changed for the worse since the 70s. People die young due to developing obesity related diseases. Diseases occur from choices people make, what one decides to eat, and how much an individual decides to eat. Studies show the life expectancy for an unhealthy person who chooses to eat a bigger portion size, often less than the average individual who keeps a balanced way of eating.
Before we look at the different Social/Psychological Determinants of Health it is important firstly to define what a social determinant of health is. According to the World Health Organization (2017) “The social determinants of health are the conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work and age.” These conditions are as a result of a wide range of factors that are ultimately governed by the way in which money, power and specific resources are shared at different levels including those at global, national and local levels. We have all been a part of and will experience different social determinants of health throughout our lives but it is the standard at which we experience these determinants that will ultimately lead onto them affecting our health or ultimately leaving us unaffected. The Social Determinants of Health which I am going to examine include • Education • Unemployment • Stress • Living Conditions • Cultural Norms.

Poor health outcomes are often the result of the interaction between individuals and their social and physical environment. Policies that result in changes to the social and physical environment can affect entire populations over extended periods of time, while simultaneously helping people to change individual-level behavior. Improving the conditions in which people are born, live, work, and age will ensure a healthier population, thereby improving national productivity, security, and prosperity through a healthier nation. The importance of social determinants of health is growing initiatives to address these determinants of health.
The individual lifestyles are the decisions, and habitat that usually result in health, illness, or even death. Some examples are cigarette smoking, diets, and physical activities (Evans & Stoddart, 1990). The environment is the elements or events that relate to health which are external to the body. In environmental determinants of health, the individual may have little or no control, which comprise of physical and social dimensions example are individual social class, being born in to a high class family, very rich or well to individuals ((Evans & Stoddart, 1990). Lastly is the organization of health care services variable consists of the quality, quantity, availability of resources, and personal relationships in the delivery of health care.
Everyone likes to stay fit and healthy, but not everyone is. Staying healthy is important to ensure a happy life without worries about the health as it helps the human steers clear of diseases. Additionally, at these times, high proportions of people are suffering from obesity, which is being overweight and unhealthy. To be healthy, it is necessary to know how to, so there are three main tips that people have to follow in order to stay healthy.
