INTRODUCTION
Office-based work is one of the fastest growing forms of employment nowadays and as a result, the health and safety aspects and practices need to keep pace with the rapid changes. The health and safety of employees is a very significant issue to consider with relation to the attainment of organizational goals. Health and safety policies as well as programs are concerned with protecting employees and other people affected by an organisation’s activities, products and services against hazards. Employees often forgot that one of the factor to ensure their productivity at workplace include the safety of workplace and its environment. The issues had been discussed widely because of the careless employees and after so many injuries, incidents and accidents had occurred. The oil and gas industries, however, was also not spared from this issue where most of the accidents had occurred. Organization that prioritize the aspect of health and safety among its employees believes that it can reduce the risk of employees from getting any injuries and also the cost of the healthcare service that helped to motivate the employees to achieve higher performance and to perform work efficiently in a safety manner. Therefore, at the end of it, it comes down to having a sense that everyone is working toward a common goal – a safe workplace (Donald, 2007).
Occupational health professionals are important for promotion of health in the workplace. The management such as health educators, safety officers and physicians play an important role to promote health in the workstation and should be given training accordingly. Specialist of occupational health in a workplace is responsible to maintain the safety and health of workers and should carefully assessing the work site for potential hazards to avoid serious harm and reducing or preventing the risk …show more content…

These questionnaires were distributed by hand or personally to all workers at the organization. In order to clarify the purpose of this study, a cover letter was also attached together with the set of questionnaires. For this study, 100 questionnaires were distributed to the respondents at PrimeSourcing International Sdn. Bhd. All the 100 questionnaires were distributed to all employees from different level of management, departments and units. The respondents also were given one week to answer the questionnaires. Several follow up calls will be made to the respondents before the completed questionnaires were being
