Psychologists help older adults manage multiple chronic diseases through treatment adherence and behavioral intentions, including physical activity, biofeedback, nutrition and stress reduction techniques (APA, 2005). According to a book about the health of aging populations in the United States, the elderly are more likely to experience health problems related to their cognitive and mental ability, and also their overall physical ability nowadays. These cause the elderly to be more needy and dependent on their caretakers. Similarly, elders in Asia, including the Philippines, experience health problems such as arthritis and high-blood pressure more commonly than any other complication. This results in the older people behaving in such a way that they get more cranky and moody. Since their caretakers are usually their own family members, they tend to stay in their hands for the remainder of their lives. Whether the family would decide to bring their old family member to a home for the aged, or stay with them so they could take care of them themselves, it is their responsibility to decide how to cope with

Health Models: Biopsychosocial vs. Biomedical Several factors influence the way in which individual’s view health, such as culture, beliefs, and age. To note, my objective for this practicum is to investigate the psychological well-being among the elderly. I learned that psychological well-being among the elderly has a strong subjective component (Simone & Haas,2013). This subjective well-being is comprised of positive and negative affect and cognitive evaluations of life satisfaction. It was my observation, and which literature supports, that residents who were well-adjusted and psychologically healthy functioned better than those that were not. I believe that this may be explained by study findings that psychological well-being is a primary indicator of optimal functioning (Simone & Haas,2013).

For example Care Quality Commission (CQC) introduced the essential standards of quality and safety which are central to the workplace. Every staff member has responsibility for providing good quality social care. Social care governance is the process by which organisations ensure good service delivery and promote good outcomes for people who use services.
The good interaction between care providers and service users with the exchanging of information about conditions and diagnosis of clients is eased by using IT. For example, when accepting any resident who are being signed off by any of the hospitals, we receive all the history of the patient from the hospital in order to continue to take care about him adequately This happens by sending health record describing past and present condition, treatment which are being prescribed and advices. All this information is kept confidential and it forbidden for anyone to share any private information of clients to anyone. IT helps us follow carefully all appointments with GP, hospitals.
