A healthy diet is a balance of being able to supply your body with the right nutrients. The five essential nutrients are proteins, fats, minerals, carbohydrates, also water and fibre. A healthy diet is crucial for maintaining the health and wellbeing of your body. Eating healthy can also aid to reduce chronic diseases such as type two Diabetes, Heart conditions and certain cancers). According to the Australian dietary guidelines One-third of Australian premature deaths from diseases have been mostly linked to obesity it also has been predicted that by 2023 type two diabetes will be Australia’s ‘biggest disease burden’. In this Paragraph I will explain the Positives of my diet and how they play a crucial part in your health. My first diet positive was my high consumption of fruit, five out of the 7 days I consumed at least two pieces of fruit this easily averaging the Australian guideline standards (150 grams). The fruits consumed mainly consisted of stone fruits, pears and bananas. This a positive because fruit can reduce the risk of several medical conditions including strokes, type two Diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Majority of fruits are low in Calories, Fat and sodium assisting your body not to gain weight. My second diet positive was my intake of vegetables. The Australian dietary guidelines recommend consuming at least 5 vegetable servings daily(75grams). 6 out of the 7 days I found that I was consuming more vegetables than the Australian dietary…show more content…
