It contains different objectives created to provide the basis for improving the health of the US citizens. The “Healthy People 2020” pursues a similar initiative as the “Healthy People 2010” to increase the quality of healthcare as well as eliminating disparities. Each objective on the agenda was designed to be achieved by the year 2020. Adolescent Health (2016) explains that public health and social problems such as smoking, substance abuse, suicide and obesity can begin at this critical developmental stage.
