In order to see if any career services center is truly capable of performing their duties, one must be able to dig further than your average student. In order to fully see what a university has to offer one must be able to see what the university offers their students. As an undergrad it is impossible to fully know what we want to do. We have no formal training on how to create a cover letter, resume or any material that is needed in order to obtain a future.
Background Information At Henderson State University, the university is trying to help past and former students to form different skills that can help in their future/presents careers. “Services include personal career counseling, interview assistance, resume preparation, on-campus interviewing, career fairs, national and local job listings, graduate school search assistance, a resource center, and online access to a variety of career and employer-related information, including videos and interactive tools” (Henderson State University 2016). Which is a great thing for them to have because they will allow each person, who visits the site, knowledge of what they need to know. Under each tab there is a variety of different assessments and information that is needed.
They do not have much information about the staff on the website, but I am sure if a student called the school they would answer any questions they have. Furthermore, from what I gathered they have a lot of information that can be gathered from one’s home. Not only are they trying to reach out to current students but also to those who are now alumni of the university. I do know here at Tech I was told that if I ever needed any help with anything I am always welcomed to come back. So I am sure that Henderson State has the same
