The International Summer Camps are very enlightening because they have allowed me to not only be healthy and take part in physical activity; but to embrace my culture, assist youth in acknowledging the importance of education, take part in team oriented workshops, and listen to key speakers that overcame great adversity. I have learned about the importance of assisting others and placing a grin on another person’s face, which is my primary motive for becoming a family practitioner. I have a desire to major in biology, minor in public health, and declare pre-med and I will continue to place forth my utmost effort as I embark on my
Ability to get motivated of what I do is my major drive, I drive my satisfaction from working to make sure I provide the best care for my patients and ensuring to answer all their question when possible while referring others to my senior colleagues. Having everything especially materials resources to carry out daily activity is also that another form of motivation which has enabled the registered nurses to feel satisfied at their jobs. Also the ability to balance between work and life helps me stay motivated all day, working eight hours a day for 5 days in a week helps me to plan my activities to suit my working schedules and still have a lot of time to study and attend to other personal things. The workplace being healthy helps to motivate staff also to achieve a common goal, since all the staff have a good interpersonal relationship, the workplace becomes very convenient and makes working together as a team more profitable and productive by rendering the best healthcare services in the region. I choose to focus my project upon because I volunteer for the organization annually and have observed leadership styles of program leaders. The Salvation Army K&WM aim to encourage individuals and communities as a whole to be self-sufficient and maintain basic standards of living by offering the following programs: Emergency Assistance, Community Center, Homeless Services, Drug and Alcohol Treatment, Children 's Shelter. This project will assess each programs areas of strength and weaknesses. Areas of Strength: The Salvation Army constantly offer new, innovative products or service to areas of poverty. The Salvation Army has a wide array of professional networks through which resources can be shared and communication can be exchanged regarding the organizations services.
It has taught me to be understanding, welcoming and considerate. It has given me the skills to be open to change and communicate effectively. One of the staff members stated to me the first day that this job was great because he got to hang out with his friends all day. It is evident in the relationship between the clients and staff, which was another component to The Mercy Center that I had not expected. The relationships between the clients and the staff in The Mercy Center are the foundation of the program. At this point of my internship, I am in the exploration process. This week in day rehabilitation has given me some experience with this population and alleviated some of the anxiety of starting an internship.
