He goes onto add in this article that was published in the Washington Post on September 8, 2011 that we as Americans overreacted to 9/11. Throughout his article he presents a lot of research and then analyses what he finds.

Terrorists from the group hijacked four planes and planned to destroy the targeted areas of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and some theorize the last plane was set on course to the White House. However, this final plane did not crash into its intended target, but was brought down in Pennsylvania when passengers retaliated. On September 11, 2001, tragedy struck the city of New York. On that fateful day, two airplanes were hijacked by terrorists and flew straight into the twin towers. Each tower fell completely to the ground, taking thousands of lives with it and injuring thousands more. Not only did that day leave thousands of families without their loved ones, it also left an entire city and an entire country to deal with the aftermath of the destruction. Poet, Nancy Mercado, worries that one day people will forget that heartbreaking day.

President Bush reassures citizens and the victim’s families that America and its people are not only strong but are safe and will rise up again. Bush effectively executes his 9/11 speech and uses rhetorical devices to catch the citizens attention, calm the America people and unite them together again.
The 9/11 memorial has only been open for five year so it is surprising that it is so popular. Over 300,000 people have already visited the 9/11 memorial. It’s making a lots of money because the cheapest tickets are $24 and the cheapest tour is $39, and that is per person. Also on the webpage you are able to donate. The reason it is so expensive is because they need to keep it open, and the rest of the money goes the the other buildings they are building.

“If we learn nothing from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate.” This quote comes from Sandy Dahl , the wife of the pilot on flight 93. When thinking about 9/11 this quote comes to mind because on that particular day, the world was reminded how short life really is. This quote also intertwines with 9/11 because it teaches us how there is no time to hate, but to move forward and help each other hand in hand. Even though I was only a year old when September 11th happened, I want to understand this horrific event that went down in history of the United States.
