The service user I chose to assess is a 17-year-old Hispanic female whose modified name is Tiana Santos. I provided therapeutic casework services to Tiana for a year in my previous role as a Therapeutic Caseworker at the Children’s Village, a foster care agency. Tiana was placed in foster care after been removed from her mother’s care due to emotional and physical abuse. Tiana’s father abandoned her mother and her youngest sibling when she was 5 years old. Tiana’s memories about her father were very limited due to her young age.

These past couple of years we have been disturbed by the drugs and festation of the people committing theses crimes and acts around us. Russell is known for our quiet country feel where are children can be safe to run and play without the worries because of our self engaging community. Since the years, we are noticing large amounts of drugs soaring through or streets in which have began to affect the unimaginable. Our concern for the safety of our wellbeing would be in better hands if there was more law enforcement to help fulfill these uneasy feelings.

During my elementary school time, I had learned that this world is full of competition and you have to act out in order to stand a chance. I was quite intelligent in my classes, especially on the subject of mathematics. While I thought nothing of it,as I was bullied for that reason, my teachers saw it differently. Then, during the 4th grade, my teacher, Mr.Green, had asked me if I would like to join the school’s math field day team. At first, I wasn’t so sure, but after a few days, I was now a part of my school’s math field day team, along my twin brother, Anthony.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this case study is to determine if a 17 year old female, Emily, is appropriately developing physically, socially, and cognitively based on examined factors. Some factors that will be considered is the child's family situation, sociality, future plans, growth experiences, hobbies, and personality factors. The qualitative information provided will be used to determine if the child has adapted to the appropriate developmental stage of her age group. The analysis will also determine how each factor has impacted the development of the child.
