School dress codes are very harmful to a young adult and young child because they will not be able to express themselves, and will feel trapped being like everyone else and lose themselves. Students will also learn to respect others no matter what they wear, and will have a kinder and more accepting mind. Additionally, students will have a developed mind and be more independent with high academic intelligence. If we don't put a stop to dress codes than many students will be harmed mentally and emotionally, and never have a fully developed mind which will harm them. Self-expression is important to a student, because they know they aren't trapped in the crowd looking like everyone else, and have a raised self esteem knowing they are unique and different.
Creating a collaborative culture also creates buy-in from all stakeholders. People do not care about things as much if they do not feel as though they have an active voice in the decisions that are being made, especially if those decisions directly affect them. It is important to establish a family type culture where all stakeholders feel connected to one another and they take responsibility for student achievement and upholding their school’s mission and vision. A school’s culture should not be function as though it is a robot, only going through the motions just to fulfill certain obligations on paper. It should also not reflect a little house of horror where staff members do not see the importance of being there.
Additionally, This will help us from becoming unfocused, breaks help us retain more information, and having shorter breaks help you stay on schedule. One of the largest problems of no physical activity is being less concentrated. When we have no oxygen in our brain, we tend to become unfocused in our school work. With having light exercises, we will stay alert because when we exercise, our blood starts to move faster which creates oxygen. Moreover, without oxygen, we start killing our brain cells and we don 't think properly.
The Power Of Knowledge People can rely on literacy and social awareness to help them be better aware and more thoughtful. But when people have neither of these skills it can harm the view they have on their surroundings. Fahrenheit 451 is an example of what would happen if social awareness and literacy were looked down on. In the society where the story takes place in not many are socially aware or can read. This lack of awareness and literacy drives people to take great lengths for their beliefs and wants, this is a problem because they don't think about the consequences their actions will have.
Life does not have a “trigger warning.” Including warnings about course content that may evoke feelings of distress does not guard students from their emotions; rather, it guards students from reality. The addition of these aforementioned precautions at DePauw University would not adequately prepare students for their lives beyond college. Therefore, a policy that requires faculty to provide trigger warnings alongside potentially sensitive material should not be enforced. A liberal arts institution is designed to open the minds of students to new ideologies and philosophies, regardless of how uncomfortable those outlooks are. However, by notifying students in advance about potentially sensitive topics, it makes it extremely feasible for students to reject opposing viewpoints or information that may conflict with their current beliefs.
Lastly, people must rid themselves of any bad and unhealthy ideals. They must not feel pressured by the media, friends, family or external sources to change themselves and pursue activities that they feel uncomfortable about and are not right. They must not succumb to people’s expectations and unhealthy ideals, but instead set high (but reachable) standards for themselves to keep improving and being better. They must realize that they don’t have to be perfect and suit what everyone think of them, but instead feel comfortable in their own skin and set healthy standards to keep improving instead of being
Students are more unwilling when the relationship with the teacher is not there. “Mind-set can affect the quality and longevity of personal relationships as well, through people 's willingness—or unwillingness—to deal with difficulties. Those with a fixed mind-set are less likely than those with a growth mind-set to broach problems in their relationships and to try to solve them, according to a 2006 study I conducted with psychologist Lara Kammrath, now at Wake Forest University” (Dweck). When you are unwilling to change your mind on how you feel about something it’s very hard to grow in that subject. If you continue to to bad in something, you will think that you will forever be bad and there is no room for
Teachers need the ability to work together effectively in order to maintain a positive learning community. With merit pay he says teachers will be more inclined to work by themselves. Clabaugh says that lack of collaboration will stifle the education community. Outside factors play a role in a students achievement in school. Factors teachers just cannot control.
For example from the article “School Uniforms- Pros and Cons” it says that there is less peer pressure to fit in when they’re not wearing the trendy brands and they’re all wearing the same thing. From the article “Pros and con” it states “Students always want to wear the “popular” brand of clothing and they talk about it too which gets them off topic” (Hertzler,1). By having school uniforms students will stay more focused on schoolwork instead of what the “popular trend” or brand is for that moment. Students like talking about in class what style or type of clothing they’re getting. Usually kids also compliment each others clothes which would get them off topic and not paying attention in class.
Bullying or suborning someone is not ok, That something of our knowledge. Stop trying to fit in something superficial because that is not going to fill up your life and soul. But, the most important thing to learn is to respect each other’s decisions no matter if you aren’t in agreement. That will help you to grow as a person. To conclude, life is more than school labels.
Some parents are reacting to an outdated perception that there will be a lack of discipline when students have too much free time, and this lack of discipline will keep them from getting the best possible education. We all know there are only a few kids who are irresponsible in their behavior at Monarch, and it is these students who should not be allowed off campus. An open campus should be an earned privilege based on the student’s maturity and good
Support from teachers can help kids know that they are in a safe environment and that it 's okay for them to be themselves. The support of good peers and friends can also play a big role in a child’s school and social experience. Kids who don’t try hard in school, and don’t do their best might still be that way when they are adults. Children and teens who don’t do well in school because they cannot focus on the task often fall behind keeping a job, or staying focused at work. Teens and kids who socialize instead of working will not help them when applying for and managing a steady job.
Thus, they will effectively create a barrier to discourage the offenders from getting to class or going back home. My solution may not be popular with some students, but I think it may raise students’ grade point averages who will get to class on time, and thus gain valuable instruction time. Fewer hallway traffic jams will also result in fewer tardies by clearing the hallways for students who believe passing periods if for travelling to other classes, not engaging in long conversations with friends or checking your phone while blocking the hallway. Let’s eliminate hallway traffic jams, as we must focus on our future and not
