Clark Atlanta University was the platform in which the Democratic presidential candidate, Hilary Clinton was heckled by protestors; Friday, October 30, 2015. The group of approximately 10 protestors from the Black Lives Matter movement, chanted their frustrations with the current racial disparities experienced by several African-Americans. Hilary acknowledged the group by stating, “I 'm sorry they didn 't listen, because some of what they demanded I am offering and intend to fight for as president.” (“Black Lives Matter activists interrupt Hillary Clinton”). The protestors continued, overbearing Clinton’s address, until audience members began to chime in. Hilary addressed how she planned to implement policies to expand economic opportunities and mend the criminal justice system, the premise of The Black Lives Matter movement. As Clinton aims to mend the racial incongruities many blacks experience, she faces criticism as many believe her efforts are minor in regard to legislation and economic advancement.

Several presidential elections have demonstrated the fact that Southern states are primarily dominated by Republicans. To counteract this effect in the Democratic primary, Hillary placed emphasis on Southern states, realizing she needs the vote of these states to become the President of the United States. One can conclude that Clinton’s political agenda is to mainly gain the vote of the southern states. In this regard, she appears to show interest in enacting laws that would improve the lives of blacks, however some believe these false promises are used as a tool to propel her personal agenda, to become the first female president of the United States.
