Introduction
The objective of advertising is to communicate to prospective and existing customers on the availability of a certain product or service or its advancements (Kaser 5). Companies hence appreciate the need to have good advertising techniques to ensure that they reach their audience on time and appropriately. Advertising has however transformed over the last three hundred years to date. During the evolution period, the literacy levels were low and people relied on signs and sounds to communicate to other people (Kaser 7). In fact, when a person for instance wanted to sell fruits to other people, he would walk around with their carts signaling people where they would likely find them. Nowadays, there is the use of social media, print media and even mainstream media to send messages across the globe. Advertising is now fast and efficient which also makes conducting business easier as opposed to the past days.

Craftsmen during this time would use special marks on their products to indicate that they are the makers of the products. Bakers would also put some design on the cakes that would indeed show that they made it. Sometimes, the traders would hire out people to sell their products in the market with the view of having more customers. During the 18thcentury, print, television and radio as a means of advertisement was rarely used and people relied on signs and posts to market their products and services (Kaser 18). In this case, traders would simply make some sign posts directing customers to their area of operation and this would make selling easier the following time.
