Red panda are small, bear-like mammals found in China that are endangered. They are sometimes called lesser pandas after their relation to the better known giant panda. Although, red pandas were discovered 48 years before the giant panda. Red pandas are also called red bear-cats due to their bear-shaped body and size that is similar to a house cat. If traveling in the bamboo forests of China or the foothills of the Himalayas, one may encounter the red panda. This creature will grow to the size of a house cat and can be distinctly recognized by its red and white markings and bushy tail, similar to a raccoon’s. Because of the area they live in has a cold climate, they have soft, thick fur covering their entire body. This includes their feet in order to keep them warm and hide their scent. They also use their tails to cover themselves for warmth. Red pandas are nocturnal and spend most of their lives in trees where they sleep. They are most active at night during their such for food. Scientists have been given a lot of trouble while trying to classify this creature. They have show to be relatives of giant pandas, but they are also related …show more content…
Although, they have been known to occasionally form small groups. Typically, red pandas seek a mate anywhere from December to March in order to give birth by spring or summer. Males have no part in the raising of young. Females stay and fully care for babies in their nests for about 90 days. After that, babies stay by their mother’s side for about a year before separating. Red pandas become sexually mature at 18 months and fully mature at 2 or 3 years. The size of a litter for red pandas is 1 to 4 cubs. This mating ritual makes red pandas k-strategists. Because of its endangered nature, the exact number of red pandas left is difficult to determine, but it is estimated to be between 5,000 and 6,000. Some sources indicate this number may even be under
Frilled dragon eggs are buried in the sand, in large clutches from 8 to 23. The eggs with hatch in 8-12 weeks. The sex of the babies are determined by the temperature outside. Once the eggs hatch, the babies may stay with each other for up to 10 days, but they are otherwise independent. They are born at only 2 inches long and weigh 3-5 grams.

Most sharks only have one or two pups every time they give birth. These factors make the time-period
This particular bear is a subspecies of the black bear. It has dark nose pads, white or creamy fur, brown eyes, and nearly white claws. This kind of bear is quite rare and maybe about 100 exist near British Columbia. It’s scientific name is the Ursus americanus kermodeii. The few white bears that live outside of British Columbia is only about one in a million.
Both of these sloths can be found in nearly all elevations with the three-toed going up to 2400 m and the two-toed being seen as high as 3,300 m (Wainwright). While both kinds are found in primary forest, secondary forests, and subtropical lowlands, the three-toed is much more commonly seen. This is due to the fact that the three-toed is active during the day and night, while the two-toed is mostly nocturnal (Wainwright). Both sloths spend nearly all of their time in the tree canopy and for the most part they do not prefer specific species of trees. Three-toed and two-toed sloths have little muscle mass and low heart rates, so they do prefer to be in taller trees in which they can bask in the sun in order to maintain a warmer body temperature (Jung, Apostolopoulos).
For example, they sometimes eat insects and berries (“Red Wolf” 2017). Generally, they hunt deer and smaller mammals such as raccoons, rabbits, and rodents. Also, they travel up to 20 miles within their territory searching for prey (“Red Wolf” nd). As previously mentioned, the red wolves historical range throughout the southeast has now dwindled to just small portions of North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida (“Red Wolf (Canis Rufus)”). Still, red wolves can live in a variety of habitats, from forests to swamps to coastal prairies (“Red Wolf” nd).

They are also very lively and good-natured creature. They are nocturnal. Their communal groups consist mostly of mature females and their cubs. The mating season for these creatures is between December and
One is of the bear species, the black bear. Black bears have a medium to heavy frame with large ears and powerful limbs. The black bear has a coat that can differentiate from brown, cinnamon, blond, grey-blue, and of course, black. They can adapt to their environment easily, but are normally found in forested areas. It has a diet that consists of fruits, buds, berries, nut, insects, and food lest by humans.
Rivera, Ma. Ione Skye Niches and Adaptations Part I: Animal #1 BLACK BEARS American Black Bears are forest dwellers and are usually found in mixed forest areas and also places that can be as high as 10,000 feet in elevation. Their habitat is mainly in an understory surrounded with lots of fruits, nuts, and berries.
In the informational article by Jacqueline Adams, ‘’The Stripes Will Survive’’. The author explains how Siberian tigers are in danger and how to solve the problem. In Cleveland Ohio Metroparks Zoo some visitors get a glimpse of these rare cubs that are in danger of going extinct like other tigers. The people at the Zoo Are trying to not have tigers go extinct from jungles and pair up with The American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA) to help them keep the tiger from going extinct. The Zoo finally sets up a place for the tigers to roam like they are in the wild.
Habitats generally consist of grasslands, rainforests, deciduous forests, deserts, and wetlands, thusly; each habitat provides the right mix of essential elements that make life possible for a species ("Endangered," 2007). The red wolf (Canis Rufus), in 1967, became classified as one of the most endangered species of Canid in the United States ("Recovery," 2015). The red wolf, indigenous to North America, and once common throughout the eastern and southcentral portions of the United States ("Recovery," 2015), is one of two species of wolf that includes the Canis Lupus, otherwise known as the gray wolf ("History," 2015). Related to both the gray and red wolf, are the other members of the carnivorous Canid biological family, comprising of jackals, foxes, coyotes, and the domestic dog ("History," 2015).
Recently scientists have found out that red wolves and eastern wolves aren’t a real species. They are just a mix of gray wolves and coyotes. Gray wolves used to live all over North America, until they got hunted till there were hardly any left and they were near extinction. Then, in 1972 a new law got made it illegal to hunt gray wolves. That law was called the Endangered Species Act.
Topic: Great White Sharks Specific Purpose: To inform the audience about great white sharks. Thesis Statement: I am going to tell you about its habitat, its behavior, and some common misconceptions about them. Introduction: “Out there is a Perfect Engine, an Eating Machine that is a miracle of evolution – it swims and eats and makes little baby sharks, that’s all.” This is a quote from a movie you’ve probably seen called Jaws.
I looked up why most of them are going are going endangered. I found out that mostly Monkeys/apes/gorillas, rhinos, elephants, big cats, bears, penguins, whales, cold blooded & other ocean animals, canines, birds, and turtles. These are the most endangered groups. I’ll start off with the elephants. Elephant tusks are made out of ivory which is used for several things in China.
