The person I chose that I would like to be described as is an ice hockey player known as P.K. Subban on the Montreal Canadiens. Subban is a great role model for young people and deserves the respect that I have for him. When he is on the ice, Subban is always working hard to get better at different zones of skill such as stick handling, shooting the puck, and body checking. When Subban is off the ice, he is always very fun and kind to his fans and even the opponent’s fans.
The speech was relatively short but to the point and he got the players persuaded to believing that they could win the game. The main idea in the speech to me is when he tells the players that they were all born to be hockey players and that they were meant to be in the situation they are. The speech is very inspiring and efficient as it changed the course of hockey in the United States of America
Today is that day. Today is the day I’m going to win the Stanley Cup. During the season I stayed at the Staal residence with the Staal brothers, Eric and Jordan. Eric is one of the best hockey players I have ever seen. In the past couple of seasons were rough for him.
“We know what we need to do to be successful and we feed off each other’s game so well. Get pucks in deep, forecheck the hell out of the opposition”, he said after an early season game in Brooklyn. If there was a straw that stirred the drink, however, it would be the 5-11, 200 pound, 25 year-old-center from Mississauga who picked exactly the right time to have a career season, both for him and the club. Cizikas has shattered his previous high for points in a season with 26 and is only two goals away from tying the upper limit he set just last season with nine. He’s playing at a plus for the first time in his career (+5), has already surpassed career highs in hits and blocks and is a 48% Corsi player on the season.
What can we attribute this to? The Talent There are more men – and women, playing as a result of the high cost of the battlefield. The talent pool has gotten bigger and the support and determination that these men and women carry onto the rink is undeniable. Nothing keeps the spirit of a true competitor from expressing itself, and sled hockey is a perfect
Today I am honored to be standing here presenting the Conn Smythe trophy to my friend Duncan Keith. The Conn Smythe is awarded to the most valuable player during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I first heard of this tremendous defensemen back in the 2009-10 season where he helped prevail the Chicago Blackhawks to their first Stanley Cup victory since 1961. It seems like Duncan never has a bad season and makes very few mistakes on the ice. The amount of time he puts into this game really shows his dedication and love for hockey.
There are numerous arguments that support or oppose the presence of fighting in hockey. The reasons to retain fighting in hockey are that it’s a hockey custom, which motivates and excites the fans and the players. According to CBC Sports (2011), there is a significant poll led by the National Hockey League Players ' Association that signifies about 98% of hockey players want fighting to be a part of the game because it inspires and entertains them in a captivating manner (para.1). Moreover, the enforcer who is also the fighter of the NHL team is often the most popular player and has a significant role to play in the game. For example, John Scott who is an enforcer was voted by the fans to play in the NHL All-star game, which is mostly played by skilled players (Cleveland, 2016, para.3).
With 6 seconds left, the puck made its way to the rookie Vladimir Tarasenko. As if he had practiced this his whole life, he fired a wrist shot without blinking and roofed it. Scottrade Center erupted. The Blues would go on to win the game and unfortunately lose the series; however, this was one of the most exhilarating sports moments I have ever witnessed. Many of the hockey games I have been to have been memorable, but a couple of other experiences also stand out.

Last year he spent significant time with the team and had some solid games which earned him playing time in the Playoffs. Marchenko is a defenseman who can move the puck pretty well, strong defensively, and a pretty good skater. He also comes with size that Detroit needs at that position (6’3 210 lb) but with the signing of Mike Green, there’s no real room for him to come up right away. That doesn’t stop him from being one of the top prospects to watch. Alexey has too many tools to be held down in Grand Rapids for long.
Bill Donaldson 's life is categorized by hard work, integrity, and always getting back up after being knocked down. William Henry Donaldson was born on June 2nd, 1931 in Buffalo, New York to Guida and Eames Donaldson. He had a brother named Ted who was four years older than he was. He enjoyed playing hockey and starting businesses, two passions that would stick with him throughout his life. Bill grew up during the height of the Great Depression, and as a result, he had to make the most out of the situation he was in.
These are the kids that truly make a team better, they are unselfish and, like to share the puck. Weightlifting, practice, and shooting pucks are just another part of an ordinary day for them. College hockey is a attainable goal for these feisty, hard working athletes. On our hockey team, we have multiple people I would consider feisty hockey players. Occasionally we play teams like St.
