This story is about Stanley who is an unlucky boy. One day, a pair of old shoes fell on his head from the sky when he went back to his home, and then he was arrested by the police because the police thought he stole a top star’s old shoes. (It was $8000!!!). So he was sent to the Camp Green Lake. He dug holes everyday in the camp without knowing the reason (The holes were 5 feet deep and 5 feet wide).
Ms. Barden, the camp owner, seemed to find something in the land of green lake. She wanted to find a treasure that Ms. Kate, who was lived a hundred year ago, hid. In fact, it was Stanley’s great-grandfather’s treasure, but Ms. Kate had stolen it. Of course Ms. Barden didn’t know about that. She just thought that the treasure was in somewhere

But I couldn’t understand the reason because I thought it was too boring. However, now I can understand why, and I want to watch that movie if possible. It was one of the most exiting books I have ever read.
I was impressed on Stanley’s friendship In this book. When Zero escaped from the Camp Green Lake, no one tried to help Zero because they could die either. Stanley, however, helped Zero although he could die. In addition, Stanley stayed with Zero when Zero said I’m not going to back Green Lake Camp. If I were he, I might be able to go alone because I could die if I don’t go back to the camp. But Stanley just stayed with Zero and when Zero was fainted, he was with him without any indecision. I wanted to learn about that friendship between Stanley and Zero while I read this book. That was my first impression. I was also moved on Stanley’s kindness. When X-ray asked Stanley to give the lipstick to him, Stanley just gave it to him without any hesitancy. Also when he was asked by Zero to teach him English, he said yes with delight face. I want to learn his
Although the theme to have hope was still visible in the book and movie. Overall, the book was better than the movie because it has more details and more dramatic and leads you to want to read on and find out more chapter after chapter. Everyone should read the book because a lot of emotions, action, and mystery just a bit of
This probably indicated that no one cared about Zero, and it won't matter if he died. Thinking that myself depresses me! Zero must of felt really bad because he knows that, he has no one to go home to, no one that would care. We know Zero lives alone on the streets, because he revealed that to Stanley earlier. He said that his mom told him to wait at a park but never returned.
In Holes Stanley is Convicted of stealing a pair of famous shoes. He had the choice to go to jail or camp green lake. Once at camp green lake he learns he has to dig a 5 by 5 holes. Stanly has to find a way to prove he is innocent ,well having to dig holes.

and her husband moved to the territory. They traveled on a covered wagon, and encountered many bandits5. She refers to the times that the bandits would try to steal their horses, and after that night they would stay up through the night to keep
When he was in the wreck room with the boys, all he was thinking about was the tube and what it could possibly be. In fact, he was thinking to himself, “It seemed so familiar, but he just couldn’t place it.” Stanley had to go on with life as he normally had, keeping his secret about finding the tubular object. This is similar to the book, The Giver, where the main character Jonas, has to go on with his normal activates without telling anyone he can see color. Both Jonas and Stanley should try their best to act normal and not draw attention to themselves.
“The truth was, he didn’t especially like himself. He liked himself now. ”(186 Sacher) This quote shows there has been significant change in Stanley. Partly through the influence of Zero’s friendship and partly from Stanley’s growth as a person, over the course of the book Stanley changes from a weak person to a strong person.
They sit in their canoe, hungry and tired. Then one night, they see a cabin as they are going by in the water. They sneak in through the window and go to sleep, since it is too dark to see anything. When they get up, they explore a dead body. Jim says, "It 's a dead man.

Just like any other great book there were many things I liked, disliked, and connections I made throughout it. During Zero Day there are many writing techniques I liked. The main technique I liked about the book was the way the author wrote it. Zero Day left you on a cliffhanger on almost every chapter, so you could predict what would happen next. One example of this is at the end of chapter three it leaves you wondering by saying “And with it, the truth.”
They faced many external struggles. Surrounded by sea water, Zamperini and the other two lasted on eight pints of water. After that supply was depleted, they collected rain water. To solve their hunger, they caught two albatrosses and ate them. Using the remains from the huge birds, Zamperini fished for food.

In the end I found the film to be easier to understand vs the book as it was an easier and more straight forward plot line whereas in the book it seemed to jump around leading to constant flipping between stories and pages to get a better
If I didn 't have the book I still think that I would be able to follow along with the movie and know what is going on. I really did like the story. It was different than any other books. It was funny and adventures but at times it was very mature. The lesson that anyone can learn is don 't change something you believe in because other people say it is not true.
