Christmas has never been one of my favourite holidays but this year is a little different. For the first time in my life I get to spend Christmas day at my house. I can’t wait to sleep in, open presents, and lounge around in my pyjamas. I can think of nothing better.
While the holidays are not about gifts—many people are choosing to focus solely on quality time and skipping gifts altogether this year—I still enjoy giving gifts, especially handmade ones. For those of you wanting to share a special gift..or two with your family, friends, and yourself. One for you, one for me right?! I am sharing with you my 2017 holiday gift guide. Some of these gifts are made by me while others are on my personal wish list.

Manduka Pro Yoga Mat
This is my absolute favourite mat that I have ever had! I noticed that as my teaching schedule increased I needed extra cushioning for my joints. This 6.35mm thick Manduka yoga mat is perfect. This mat is non-toxic, emission free in its manufacturing, and because of the closed cell surface it prevents dirt from absorbing into the mat—making it easy to clean.
6. Acupressure Mat
In the fall a lot of my students raved about the benefits of acupressure mats. I have never tried one but I would certainly like to. It is a great tool to include in your self care toolbox because it helps to relax muscles, improve circulation, and improve your quality of sleep.

You 'll spend a significant portion of your life sleeping. So finding a mattress that 's comfortable, high quality, and long lasting is extremely important. An ideal mattress is both highly comfortable, but it still firm enough to provide adequate support. The Sleep Master Ultima 8 Inch memory foam mattress greatly exceeds these criteria, while still being far more affordable than most high-end mattresses. A high-quality mattress with multiple layers, the Sleep Master Ultima does away with traditional springs and opts for a complete foam design.
Our goal this year is to be able to adopt two families to grant them the wish of “the perfect Christmas.” Our projects will be funded by sponsors or donations from the Winter Haven community. The two families who will be granted with this gift are located in Winter Haven, Florida and they must be in need.
I don’t make merry myself at Christmas, and I can’t
Karla Almengo Christmas is to feel like family and I am someone extremely homelike. Since I was little, I liked this time of the year even though I am not a person who lets myself be carried away by fixed dates and organized by a calendar. However, the spirit of Christmas, the thought that time returned to zero by a being who came to world to teach us to love one another. I like Christmas decorations, and I like the air that acquires the cities during this time of the year, I like snow and cold. For instance, one of my favorite things that I love to do is decorate the Christmas tree.
Christmas is a wonderful time of year. It is when we all show appreciation for each other by giving gifts. I myself would like some gifts from you. After all, there are things I do not have that I want. So, I present to you the present I want for Christmas.
In the short story, “A Christmas Memory”, by Truman Capote, a boy relives his most memorable Christmas with his older cousin. During his story the old woman and him both develop strong developments. The use of character to character interaction and visual imagery is key to the suggested theme that the power of memory influences people to relive their lives. One of Capote’s major supporting tactics relies on the clever use of character to character interaction, even when inferred. A certain such example reveals itself early in the story, in which the narrator explains that his cousin calls him “Buddy, in memory of a boy who was formerly her best friend (Capote 1).”
The Ugly Christmas Sweater: From ironic nostalgia to festive simulation The Ugly Christmas Sweater is a cultural symbol that brings happiness to all ages and gives personal, familial warmth to those during the Christmas season. The Christmas season nowadays is one of the most busy and stressful times of year in terms of financial and emotional stress. The Ugly Christmas Sweater parties may offer an escape from the holiday stress.
As a young adult, I can say that Christmas gift giving is likewise to language. Similar to how I grasped the language of English and developed it as I got older, gift giving has also grown with me throughout my childhood up till now. Both have evolved into society and culture. Christmas has transformed into a "cultural ritual" celebrated year after year all because of social norms. The idea that society celebrates Christmas and gift giving without having to be forced represents how culture regulates societal behavior.
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas The Grinch who stole Christmas is one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books and one of my favorite Christmas movies. I found 3 things similar to one another in the book and the movie which had the Grinch who hated Christmas, the Who’s who loved Christmas, and the Grinch stole all of the presents and food. One identical thing I found in the movie and book was that the Grinch hated Christmas. If they didn’t put the Grinch’s hate for Christmas in both the book and, he would have no reason to steal Christmas and it wouldn’t have been a very good movie.
The most powerful, and most obvious argument the ghost makes is not said by a single character in the novel, but inferred by the reader. The Ghost of Christmas Past showed Scrooge a past he could not change, the Ghost of Christmas Present showed him the present, which was already happening, but the Ghost of Christmas Future showed him a future that he could change and make his own. Scrooge could not change his past, he could not change the immediate present, but he could change his future by reforming, and becoming loving and generous. The power to change what he saw was definitely one of, if not the strongest influence any of the ghosts had on Scrooge. This is an obvious use of logos by the ghost.
Compare and Contrast Christmas Carol Book VS. Christmas Carol Movie Are you into the Christmas spirit where everyone is enjoying their time with their family, then the Christmas carol is the right book for you. Today I am going to be discussing about the similarities and the differences between the book and the movie, in the book and the movie Scrooge was the main character they both had the part where Scrooge had an argument with his Nephew. In the movie and the book they had the same types of lessons learned. The difference is that in the movie Scrooge had a dog while in the book, it never mentions that Scrooge had a dog.
Leah Martin Mrs.McKenna English /5th period 13 May 2016 Final Copy Our family can only eat whatever we grow on a small plot of land located a short way from our house. We have no other form of income so if we are unable to pick anything to eat from the land we go without food on that day. This happens a lot and we regularly go several days without any food at all. When we do pick vegetables from the land it’s very rarely enough for the whole family to be fed so my husband
Scrooge awakes to the second of the three spirits, the Ghost of Christmas Present. Consecutively, they go on a little tour of his town and Scrooge observed the large amount of Christmas cheer almost everywhere. Scrooge and the Ghost of Christmas Present zoom in on a house which, conveniently, is his clerk’s family’s home. The twain watched as the Cratchits eat dinner and, while doing so, meeting all the young Cratchits and one in particular named Tiny Tim, who’s a little bundle of joy despite being crippled. Consequently, everyone falls in love with Tiny Tim and Scrooge questions, “Spirit, tell me if Tiny Tim will live.”

The sound of birds chirping garishly outside my window, wakens me from a deep slumber. Opening my eyes, I see the morning sun’s rays illuminating my room. I’m longing for sleep to engulf me back into its warm embrace. My father ruins any hope of going back to sleep as he hollers upstairs that breakfast is ready. Standing up and doing a morning stretch is when I first smell it.
