The people who are usually affected by homelessness are those who are in: poverty, domestic situations, bad financial stability, natural disasters, and other problems out of their control. These things are hard to stop or control and most people end up homeless because of this. These homeless people are engineers, lawyers, doctors, and etc. Their careers and jobs are important to our society. The reason they became homeless are from missteps they took throughout their lives. Homelessness is not just about money and housing. It is about human rights failure.
Moreover, there is the fact that the majority of homeless individuals do not have cell phones or consistent transportation to a workplace. Adding to these problems is the difficulty of staying clean, and it begins to come clear why these individuals have so much difficulty finding and holding down a job. Some also hold the perception that all homeless individuals are unemployed. A Vox article counters that idea, stating that minimum wage workers who work full-time would not be able to live stably in the average apartment in any state in the U.S. Therefore, even people who have full-time jobs can be at risk.
Many people could care less of homeless veterans even though those veterans give those people freedom and rights. Those people need to help support our homeless veterans. The government is already helping homeless veterans get off the streets and helping them start a new life. Many kids have parents that have served in the military including my parents. I couldn’t imagine what would happen to us.
Many different factors greatly affect the high number of homeless people today. One of the biggest causes of homelessness is the lack of affordable housing. Affordable housing is essential for low-income families who cannot afford to pay high rent and support their families at the same time. In 2015 today affordable housing is not readily available for the families who need it most. The second cause of homelessness which is greatly connected to the lack of affordable housing is the rise of rent.
It is disheartening when the homeless is being treated poorly by other people. Some people think of the homeless as someone who is inferior or dirty. But , in spite of the all those negative stereotypes you will be quite surprised by how some of the homeless have a positive outlook maybe because they go through a lot more in life, they learned how to live life and not just simply surviving it. Society needs to invest in homeless veterans problem. Homelessness “Is not having a place to live.” When you are homeless you do not have any money and most likely you don 't have a lot of food which you probably already know that. Most people believe it 's their own fault or it is over drug and alcohol abuse or just being lazy period, but according to rock center by Jessica Hopper believe it or not 20% of people that have jobs who are not on any alcohol substance or drug abuse are also homeless, which leads us to the requirement wages in order to afford a place to stay in. Not just in TN but in every state more than minimum wage is needed, Families need to earn a housing wage of 15$ an hour in order to afford a two-bed room apartment.
