Everyone knows that healthy food means avoiding highly added sugar, oil, sodium and saturated fat. However, the non-homemade food contains a higher amount of sugar, oil, and sodium that causes various health issues. Sometimes we do not have a choice to avoid taking food from restaurants. The main reason is having food from restaurants that they do not know how to cook. Even though most of the people know food from restaurants are unhealthy, they continue to eat food because they do not have the knowledge how to cook. If we Cook at home, we can avoid using unhealthy ingredients in the food. If anyone eats homemade food daily, they are going to be lead healthier life than others who eat at outside. Because people consume a minimum amount of sugar and fat that helps balance their weight and increases the energy label. By making homemade food daily, we can to build a better mental health by science proven. As an example, cooking at home gives us a clear idea what we eat and how much nutrition we are going to consume. We also make a healthy diet list that contains all kinds of nutrient and vitamins such as calcium, fiber, iron, vitamin C, vitamin B and so on. To be a healthy person, we should keep those vitamins and nutrients contain food in everyday food chart. Homemade food makes easier to intake all kinds of nutrients when food is prepared at home. However, food from outside could be causing serious health problems over the time. According to Junk Food Science, 25% to 28.9% of adults who is having junk food daily cause high blood pressure in the United State. Moreover, often consuming junk food increase the chance of having various types of health problem including heart attack. In addition, food from outside is unhealthy for everyone. It increases the risk of giving a birth unhealthy baby, including other types of health problems for the pregnant woman. Eating homemade foods let us add in more fresh fruits and vegetables to our diets so that we can focus on all-natural ingredients. The life pursued by the average young person in America is fast paced and scheduled to the point of breaking. As time has progressed this time stretched life style has impacted the need for food that isn’t cooked at home or even at restaurants that cook with traditional methods. This coupled with the swelling number of households with either a single parent or two working parents has increased the reliance on the fast food industry and in turn increased the overweight and obesity rates in the country. In his article “Don’t Blame the Eater,” David Zinczenko addresses this topic and places the blame not on those partaking in these delectable dinners, but in the hands of the fast food industry and their lack of understandable labeling. In turn, the consumption of fast food and prepackaged food can lead to many health issues, such as obesity, diabetes, or high blood pressure. Another area of underlying health contributors is living conditions. Those who are living in low socio-economic status may have living conditions that expose more health risk factors.

Pollan argues that nutritionism does not actually tell people what is healthy or not, and that the only way to be sure you are eating healthy is to eat natural, fresh food.

Based on my data for my daily intake of foods, I would say that I live a pretty healthy life. I went over the food groups and calories, nutrients, food details and meal summary of my food diary and I thought it was interesting to look at all the little details of the different foods I ate throughout the day for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. If I had to set 5 goals to improve my nutrition in what I eat and how I keep myself healthy I would have to say for the first one, exercise more, the second one choose healthier meal options, third one eat more throughout the day, fourth one choose healthier snacks, and for the last one do not eat when bored. I try to exercise as much as I can when I have free time, but it is sometimes hard to find some free time.
