The Honda Pilot Specs and Features

Introduced in 2002, Honda Pilot is a mid-size crossover SUV that firstly targeted the North American vehicle market. This model is the largest SUV from Honda with three-row seating features. The first generation Pilot was launched in June 2002 as a 2003 model.

Pilot has a solid foundation and platforms like the Accord sedan. It has single molded unit construction and independent suspension designed to have the same handling capability that of a car, but it is a strengthened with perimeter frame rails that are capable of light off-road use and towing.

For the year 2003-2005 models, they were equipped with one engine type: the 3.5L V6 that produces 240 hp at 5-speed automatic

It is equipped with 3.5-liter V6 VTEC giving off 250 hp or 190 kw at 5700 rpm and 253 lb-ft or 343 nm of torque at 4800 rpm. Its EPA fuel efficiency is 17 mpg city, 23 mpg highway for the front wheel drive while 16 mpg city and 22 mpg highway for the all-wheel drive.

Transmissions are 5-speed automatic with 109.2" wheelbase, 190.9" length, 78.5" width and 71.0" height. It comes with an updated grill shape, standard halogen reflectors, modified interiors with tri-zone electronic climate control, driver's seat with two-position memory settings and advanced power tailgate. For the Touring trim, it has a satellite-linked navigation system and 120-volts power outlet.

The 2012 model has redesigned front fascia, and it comes with new alloy wheels, interior improvements and bumper changes. The 2013 model had Intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID) 8-inch WQVGA (480x320) LCD screen, built-in rearview backup camera, USB connector, Bluetooth capability, mobile audio streaming and tri-zone climate control—all of these features are standard in all Pilot models.

It had contemporary and sleek exterior add-ons, LED headlamps, electronic high-low beams, DRLs and LED brake tail lights. A 6-speed standard automatic transmission engine with larger overall dimensions, and its noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) were minimal. A unit that is equipped with LaneWatch passenger side mirror camera, Blind Spot Indicators, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM). A model with three individual off-road capability systems such as the all-wheel-drive Variable Torque Management with locking differential, Hill Start Assist Control that keeps up its brake pressure when you release its brakes, and Grade Logic Control that holds the engine in a lower gear in case of steep roads for unbeatable hill-climbing torque and improved engine braking when going down a steep.
