The Apis mellifera’s wings are very important features that are detrimental to the honey bee’s existence. The Apis mellifera wings are a part of the thorax which contains the bee’s wings, legs, and muscles that assist with movement. In total, the honey bee has four wings that are divided into two sets. The front set of wings, which are called the forewings are typically larger than rear wings, which are called the hindwings.
