Becoming an NHS member recognizes my scholastic achievements but, just as important, it gives me the opportunity to continue expanding my leadership skills, strengthening my character for future challenges; all while simultaneously being of service to my community and my school. I am deeply honored to be one of the many students to be considered for the National Honor Society. This is something I have been looking forward to ever since I left my former school 's National Honor Society. As my dreams of being inducted are slowly getting closer to becoming a reality, I truly really what qualities are to be shown by those who get the opportunity to be considered. Not only would it be an enormous honor to be accepted, it will show that hard work and effort truly pays off. As I began this process I realized that I’m not the only one with the qualities that are sought after, but in my eyes I believe that I may stand out.
I find it easier for me to learn if I can relate the subject to another thing I am fluent with. Extra curricular activities also can relate to academic success because colleges look at those to see what other things you have done to succeed. Another way I will achieve academic success is by knowing what my outcomes will be. If I know what the general outcome of my success is then I will want to try harder to make that come true. There is a satisfaction with getting something right, at least for me, I feel like it is important to have satisfaction with achievements.
Although my parents set high standards, I wanted to excel beyond their expectations so that I could do well for myself and be a role model for my three younger siblings. As a result, I strived to be successful in school and to meet every challenge that arose. Freshman year started and I set out to improve my grades. As I look back, I feel that I have achieved this goal and gained self acceptance of my mixed heritage in the process. I’m proud of where I stand academically and I find my transcript to be my proof and pride of the effort I put into making myself a better student. My experiences in these past years have taught me that I can’t allow others to put me down, even through a joke, and that I should be proud of who I am and my background. Personal Essay I believe that I should be inducted into the National Junior Honor Society, because of the qualifications I have in character, attitude, education and service to Cliffside Park Middle School and our community. Being inducted into the National Junior Honor Society will help me grow as a person and will provide me with new challenges and skills. I will learn to become more responsible, to have time management, and will have the opportunity to help those in need. When I first learned that I could potentially become a member of the National Honor Society, I wanted to achieve to become a member. I know this organization does great deeds for the community all around the world; I would definitely take pride to be in the organization that ensures that a difference will be made. I would also like to generate a difference in my generation along with others. National Honor Society always recognizes students that are exemplary in and outside of school. For instance, my GPA is 3.9 as my grades are my top priority in school and that is what colleges will be looking at along with other criteria’s.
