Going out for sports, making new friends, working hard on homework, and just doing everyday tasks for the person I am today, is working towards my future. Taking CNA classes and becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant has been just one significant choice amongst others that I view as a supporter for my
I greatly appreciate my nomination to be considered for induction into the National Honors Society. I would be honored to join such an organization as it would not only provide opportunities for myself, but also encourages and emphasizes the importance of service to community. Before and during high school, I have been active in serving the community in a consistent way. Other activities I do also influence and shape the way in which I approach service and leadership tasks.
Throughout my life, I have perception of the world has changed with the aquiration of new knowledge. Throughout my life I have began to gain consciousness of issues that people of color, people like me, Latina, immigrant-descent, low-income face in everyday life. I always knew since a young age that I wanted to help people, my people. I knew I had to become someone to have the ability to be herd and listened too regardless of the color of my skin, someone worth remembering, someone who created change, someone who my parents could be proud of, but most importantly someone who I can be proud of. When I came to UCLA, a young naïve Latina, who left her bubble community back in Huntington Park, CA, I became aware of how other students were way
Being so close to home will allow me to branch out and experience life while also having a sense of familiarity with the area that I have grown to know and love. I also really embrace the Seahawk life as a whole and have really taken notice as of late at just how much school spirit there is around the campus, which is something that I really value. My major which is not entirely offered at UNC Wilmington is very important to me as I strive to become an athletic director, but I have spoken to a few people that are taking the same career path as me that have told me that the admissions department was eager to work with them to piece together exactly the courses they need. The entire atmosphere just makes me feel more comfortable than other places that I have the options of being and when I see myself in the next years I see myself at UNC Wilmington. This would be the best decision for me not just for the reasons mentioned above, but for my well being in order for me
Growing up in Cypress has been a phenomenal experience to say the least. I was raised in a supportive middle class family. With a strong backbone behind me. I grew up to become independent and mature. Along with many friends that helped me get through rough times to make me the person I am today.

I want to become a member of National Honor Society because it will help me enhance my leadership skills, along with other important character qualities such as academic achievement, serving others, and developing my character traits. Becoming a part of National Honor Society will give me opportunities to help and learn more about others. I enjoy volunteering in my free time since it is a way of me giving back to my community, getting to meet new people, and gain more experience. If selected, I will help give back to my community by committing my time to volunteering and fundraising for non-profit organization.
As a DNP, beginning of the project I felt very alone, but as I connected to other disciplines outside of the department of nursing, my attitude keeps changing. This is due to all the outstanding encouragement and support that I have received throughout this project. Everyone wants each student to be successful meeting their goals. Learning Outcomes e. Discuss how participation in the practicum experiences discussed above relate/will assist you in meeting the learning outcomes you have identified for this course.
From growing closer to my teammates to the new friendships I made there, I couldn’t have been more thankful. Through this experience, I have learned how difficult it is to be a leader, even with the help of my teammates, and how teamwork is necessary to achieve desired goals. Helping others in need is something I am very passionate about and I am proud to have been part of this team in that I was able to be someone the Navajo kids could depend. This team and trip has been a great impact and memory in my life and I am grateful to have made the choice in participating in
As an immigrant who has worked diligently to improve my quality of life, each pillar of the National Honor Society has contributed to my development and success. As a first generation American and future college student, I want to use the lessons I have learned from NHS to make my parents proud, honor their sacrifices, and revere the country that has given me the chance to improve my life. Service has not only humbled and matured me as I have worked at a children’s summer camp for five summers and have led church small groups, but has also helped me realize what I want to do with my life. My service, which has primarily been with underprivileged children, combined with my father’s chronic illness that I have witnessed throughout my life,
When asked “What does it mean to be described as “a person of character” it brought two things to my mind, what is a character and as to what kind of character am I. The choices we made throughout our life help mold the proverbial clay that is our character; from where we decided to sit at the lunch table when we were in pre-school to whether or not we picked up some trash that laid on the ground and threw it away, these choices big or small created our character. Breaking down the question a person of character, in essence, is who we really are as people. The things that we say, do, and experience are the things that separate and make each and every single one of us are own unique individual, but what is my character? I reflect back trying to think of everything I have done, and it's hard to come up with my character.
