"Zoo" is a collection of unique stories taken from the collection of the same name by Author Hirotaka Adachi, better know by his pen name of "Otsuichi". Working with five different directors, the film showcases five different stories that vary in style, covering various themes while staying steeped in horror and tragedy.
The film opens with the short "Kazari and Yoko" a story of a young girl who is horribly abused, while her sister is put on a pedestal. Living off table scraps and sleeping on the floor, Kazari has accepted her existence and believes that she is inferior to her adored sister and deserved of her punishment. The final two shorts "When the Sun Shines" and "Zoo" vary from the first three. "When the Sun Shines" is the shortest segment and is animated. Telling the story of an android being brought to life and struggling to understand it's purpose and the emotions it was programmed with. Unfortunately, same can be said for the directors of each short, with the first three being very similar in their execution. This is reflected in the fact that the cast and crew have done little to no work outside of this production. This makes "Zoo" more of a focus on the source material than a showcase for the actors or directors involved. Ultimately, these performances will probably keep this film from notoriety for those who hold the anthology format in high regard. The lackluster performances are a major deterrent and when considering which segments I preferred more, it came down to the script, with little consideration for the technical
The shooting style in of both films are similar but what is being said about the subjects is completely
Zoos have to sacrifice Money, time, and love to help the animals. In other words, a zoo can only be as amazing as the man in
The two films I have chosen to compare and contrast are both by the wonderful director Alfred Hitchcock. Hitchcock has created many films that have been deemed masterpieces in the film industry; however, the two I have chosen to review are The Birds which came out in 1963 and Vertigo which came out in 1958. The Birds is about a rich woman, named Melanie Daniels, who drives an hour to go visit a humble lawyer, named Mitch Brenner, to drop off lovebirds in Bodega Bay; what starts as a playful and almost romantic trip becomes a horror scene when the birds begin to attack. Vertigo is about a Detective who falls in love with the woman he is following, and when she dies he tries to recreate her using a new woman. Both The Birds and Vertigo are brilliant

While both the film and story are about Harrison Bergeron, we believe that the film is better
Both of these are very powerful tools created by people to really portray the horrible events that occurred and really happened to people in the Holocaust. There are many similarities and difference between the two movies but neither is more or less powerful in getting the point of complete disgust across to the viewer. There
While the book is more of a story, and provides much more detail of the horrible things that he lived

These two works are similar because Harrison is shot and killed in both the movie and the story. For instance, in the movie the handicapper general shoots and kills Harrison and it is broadcasted on live t.v. This shows the similarity because just like in the movie the handicapper general shoots and kills Harrison while being broadcasted on live T.V. This movie and story have many similarities but nevertheless these these stories have many key differences. For example, in the movie Harrison plants a bomb and this causes more tension, however in the story there is no bomb at all.
To summarize this essay, there are several points that highlight differences between the two films, yet the overall context of the film remains the same. One common theme that tends to drive the force between the reasoning in why the two films have varying aspects is because they were made for slightly different audiences at different times in society. Though both versions of the movie have small portions that vary from one another, the main emphasis is the same and both versions are loved by the
There is, in fact, an abundance of differences between them regarding the plot, setting, and characters. The setting of the story is based on a farm in Great Britain, near the ocean whereas the setting of the movie was in San Francisco, California, although both San Francisco and the farm in Great Britain are near the ocean. The plot of the story consisted of a humble farmer who was, along with his family and everyone else in Great Britain, were attacked by gargantuan flocks of birds. The story followed the farmer and his journey with his family to try and survive this bird-pocalypse. The plot of the movie consisted of a wealthy city-slicker woman who was intrigued by a man and sought him out until she found him in his hometown two hours away, in a rural town named Bodega Bay.
The directors of both films main goal is to capture national pride through the performances of the main
