6.0 POSSIBLE PROBLEMS TO THE HOT WATER SUPPLY SYSTEMS 6.1 INADEQUATE HOT WATER Inadequate hot water supply is one of the problems that may be encountered in hot water supply systems. 6.1.1 CAUSES A usual lifespan of a water heater is around 8 years and above of use and this will cause less hot water to be produced. Some of the time, problems in water heater can be easily identify and repairs. On the other hand, different types of water heater have different ways to fix the problems. There are two types of water heater, electric and gas powered water heaters which included tankless, tanked units and hybrid. The capacity of a tankless system is must be able to heat up to a given temperature based on the amount of water flow. Thus, using numerous application at the same time will cause colder water to run out before got heated up.
6.1.2 SOLUTION Installing other heating units at points of use might resolve the problem. To avoid using too many appliances at the same time cause colder water to run out to heat up, make sure to choose a tankless water heating system that supports a flow rate and temperature rise that is ideal for specific needs. Be sure to do some research or consult a professional to size the tanked or tankless water heater based on specific needs. 6.2 WATER IS TOO HOT One of the problem that may be encountered in water heater is when the water produced is too way hotter than expected. The temperature of the water may cause to burning. This may also lead to water heater retains excessively pressure in the boiler and the pressure inside may damage the whole water heater system. 6.2.1
