The House Mouse is an invasive mammal that has a multitude of habitats within Florida. The scientific name is Mus musculus. The House Mouse is established statewide. Habitats usually surround populated areas. The search for food makes family homes and stores a common place for the House Mouse to live. Large abandoned areas are also popular habitats, such as old barns, fields, and pastures. The distribution of the House Mouse is statewide. The House Mouse is an invasive species that is currently treated as a pest. The House Mouse is not native to Florida and can become an issue in developed areas. Rodents tend to carry disease and are a threat to people and animals. Pesticides and traps are currently being used by exterminators. House Mice
Our group found a total of 3 critters in group 3. Throughout this experiment we found many different types of critters. Some of the critters we found are Gilled Snails, Stonefly, Water Penny, Scud, Crayfish, Pouch Snails, and many more. Since the creek is not polluted, many critters can thrive there. Another experiment we did was the Eutrophication test.
Well about 200 years after the Corsica disaster, ecologists began to investigate the changing population of rats after a sailor shared his discovery of what he called “Rat Island”. They were very intrigued in the divide and subsequent adaptation to their surroundings by the rats. They studied the rats from afar using highly precise telescope-satellites and ships far from shore. A few were removed from the island carefully, but they died immediately after being removed from their home. Scientists still have not found out why this is, but some have speculated that there could be a difference in the gasses on Arbenina Island that the evolved rats cannot breathe without, but nobody has gone back on the island since.
The author in the article about Florida 's Okefenokee Swamp, explains the primitive swamp and wildlife in southeastern Georgia and northern Florida. To where have all the black-footed ferrets disappeared? The black-footed ferrets have been endangered since 1967 in the southwestern corner of North Dakota due to loss of habitat and a depletion of their prime food source. First of all, the prairie dogs and the other animals that lived in their homes were the ferrets prime source of food. Secondly, the ferrets, like many other animals, used the prairie dogs’ burrows as homes.
According to the article “Florida’s Python Hunt” it says: “Tens of thousands of Burmese pythons are estimated to be living in the Everglades” this means that these eating machines appear to be wiping out huge numbers of these local animals like crazy. Some of these local animals are opossums, raccoons, and bobcats, as well as many bird
Termites Now returning back to the pests near beaches, termites have quite a lot of significance. Wood is the best material to use for construction when building close to the water bodies but termites have a liking for wood structures. The termites are a real threat and among the top pests in southwest Florida. Termites can easily destroy your cabinets, your doors and start to eat up your whole house structure. A bit of panic is therefore good when seeing a termite and you should immediately call for professional help because termites are resilient and they do not like to leave a house which is full of wooden objects.
Manatees live in north american east coast, shallow slow moving rivers, saltwater bays, canals, and the coastal areas. They eat seagrass and freshwater vegetation. They are losing their habitats they really need to live. The migration route for a manatee in winter and summer is back and forth from the east and west coast of Florida.
They are more likely to reproduce in the winter climate. They have eaten through a lot of our native species such as Cottontail Rabbits, Wood Mice, and even Alligators. Wood mice are an endangered species because the Pythons are eating them as food. Researchers conducted an experiment about live and dead animals on roads between 2003 and 2011. Before 2000, it was common to see mammals on the roadways at night.
Species known to have inhabited the forests of the Great Valley include numerous mice, rats, moles, and shrew, grey squirrel, fox squirrel, southern flying squirrel, cottontail rabbit, marsh rabbit, otter, muskrat, opossum, long tailed weasel, bobcat, red fox, grey fox, polecat, striped skunk, beaver, raccoon, black bear, red wolf, cougar, white tailed deer, turkey, quail, dove, a variety of hawks, golden and bald eagles, vulture, water fowl, and migratory birds, pileated and the now extinct ivory billed woodpecker, and a variety of turtles, frogs, toads and

Of Mice and Men “The American Dream” The American Dream is one of the greatest influences to freedom. Your grandparents come here and work themselves to their deaths, so the next of kin can live happily. Religion, sexuality, gender, and inhumane lifestyles induced by governments are what America “frees” their citizens from.
Mole-rats show a little bit of irritation towards bright lights but don’t seem to be affected by fluorescent or incandescent lighting long term. To achieve this the enclosure will have fluorescent lighting because that doesn’t bother the mole-rats like bright or natural lights do. Mole-rats can be very sensitive to sound which will affect their normal behaviour and their offspring. Desensitizing the mole-rats to the sound of humans is important. To achieve this a radio will be playing 24 hours every day so they get used to the sound, the volume will be set to what they will be exposed to in the public
What Is a Pesticide? A pesticide is a substance used to avert, annihilate, or repulse pests. Pests can be bugs, mice and different creatures, weeds, organisms, or microorganisms, for example, microbes and infections. A few illustrations of pests are termites creating harm to our homes, dandelions in the grass, and insects on our mutts and felines.
Have you ever heard about the stories of how cats and rats became bitter enemies? I am going to be comparing two of the stories that tell about that. The two stories are “Cat and Rat: Legend of the Chinese Zodiac and “How Cats and Mice Became Enemies”. There are many things that are the same in these stories. One similarity of the two stories is the cat and the rat both helped each other to go somewhere and ended up hating each other by the end of it.
