9/11: The Day That Changed America Forever On September 11, 2001, nineteen terrorists boarded four planes, all transcontinental flights full of jet fuel. 9/11 became the first of many hijackings in the United States. The terrorists turned two flights into flying weapons of destruction, knocking down America’s tallest buildings. The third plane rammed into the Pentagon and the fourth plane was crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. 9/11 became the day that a tragic event killed thousands, injured hundreds and changed America forever.
On September 11, 2001, also known as 9/11, one of the greatest tragedies had struck America. This was caused by a terrorist attack that will forever be remembered by Americans. The attack started at 8:45 a.m. when the flight, American Airlines Boeing 767, that was holding 20,000 gallons of jet fuel crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center that was located in New York City. The massive explosion caused burning debris to shower over the surrounding buildings and onto the streets below, which made it clear that America was now under attack. The terrorist attack killed 2,977 people. This awful event left a scar on America’s society.

The huge attack of Iraq on the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001 left an everlasting impact on the US. On this day many fatalities occurred and much sadness fell upon the world. The first plane of terrorist flew into the North Tower, with a couple of minutes between the second plane flew into the South Tower. The effects of this disaster on the United States were many, including the immediate aftermath/roughage, the airlines, the economy, and the ongoing wars.

Another attack on the twin towers before 9/11 occurred on 2/26/1993 when a bomb was placed in the back of a van and driven to the base of the Twin Towers and exploded, about 6 people were killed, but thousands were injured (Langley, 42). Although, the most damaging strike was when two planes hit the Twin Towers or the World Trade Center.
The terrorist attacks on 9/11 have caused many debates over the years since they occurred back in 2001. In September 11, 2001 there was a terrorist attack. The terrorist attack happened by these terrorist that hijacked three planes, two of them crashed in both buildings at The World Trade Center and the last plane crashed into the Pentagon in Virginia. This affected people because it alerted them that there were terrorists invading their country. Now security in the world had been at high alert because they don’t know who the terrorist are going to strike next. Two actions about what the U.S. did for the terrorism is that the people in the country started to wear the American flag and put them in their porches and cars.
