In Puritan times, women and children held little to no power compared to men. However, Abigail Williams, a 17-year-old girl, obtains power through accusations of witchcraft. To keep her own secrets, Abigail accuses Tituba, a black slave, of witchcraft. Tituba frantically confesses to avoid being hanged, and she and Abigail list names of other women who they claim are witches. These accusations, which only grow throughout the play, give power to the accuser. Characters who confess and name other “witches” are viewed as glorious people who ultimately choose God over the Devil, giving them power over others in the village. In contrast, characters who deny witchcraft claims are disgraced. Accused witches who do not confess are convicted and executed

First of all Abigail lead the whole group of girls into lying about what really happened in the forest the night before the hysteria started.

In The Crucible he presented a universal message. He was comparing how communists did exist and witches did not, but yet they were both taken as serious.
Being able to cook up a character let me add my own ingredients and incorporate my feelings toward the character from the novel. From The Crucible there are a lot of characters that have different traits one could write about because all of them have their own personality and identity. The first character that comes into my mind was Abigail Williams, at first look she is a beautiful orphan taken in by her uncle but once you read more you find out that she does not care about how others are being treated. I am making a lemon tart to show how I feel Abigail Williams would be as a food and adding my own ingredients.

When a person is accused of witchcraft, it is very easy for them to get out of the accusation if they lie. The lies that are told shifts the belief of who knows witchcraft, and Abigail Williams uses those lies to gain influence over other people.
Power is the ability or capacity to do something or act in a particular way, Power is not only strength it is a human relationships, power is the authority one person holds over another. In the play The Crucible,written by Arthur Miller. Three characters Abigail Williams, Reverend Hale, and Judge Danforth. All want to gain power as the play goes on. But it takes a turn and influenced them negatively.
Adolescent minds are the most intelligent kind of mind. A young brain is filled with creativity, imagination and innocence. Though the thought process of a teen is assumed to be selfish there are other factors involved. A combination of these characteristics seems almost dangerous. One would undermine a juvenile to use these qualities to manipulate the court for their own selfish wishes or pleasures.

Abigail Williams “The Crucible” by Arthur Miller is a fantastic play with eloquent undertones underpinning all of the main themes and ideas. All of the subject matter when submitted to scrutiny displays a vast level of thought on Miller’s part, especially in regards to the individual characters. But the one with the most forbearance on modern society and the most substance to it is Abigail Williams and how she methodically forces the other characters to fend for themselves in ways that are less than moral. Abigail Williams knows how to get exactly what she wants. When Betty says “You did, you did!
