There are about tens of thousands of Burmese pythons estimated living in the Everglades. The main reason why these snakes are in the Everglades is because people thought that they could handle them as pets, but as soon as they kept them, they turned them loose into the Everglades because they could not take care of these snakes. Snakes can really give a shiver through people 's body. Did you know Burmese pythons can grow about 4 times your size. The Everglades is located in Florida and being taken over by big snakes. This is a bad thing because the Burmese pythons wiping out many species of animals, ten of thousands of these snakes called Burmese Pythons are living in the Everglades, and People are setting up to hunt these snakes with a grand prize of 1,000 dollars. With the snake’s owner not knowing what they were getting into when the snakes got too big they released the snakes to the wild.
A subtropical wilderness with grass marshes, forests thick with trees hundreds of years old and hardwood hammocks (trees that only grow a few inches tall but packed very close together but can take up acres). Seems like a place to protect. Ever since the 1900 draining of the everglades, the ecosystem has shrunk by 50%. People did not see how important the Florida everglades where. The effect of the polluted water in the everglades is causing problems for both people and the inhabitants of the everglades.

Clearly, the Burmese python is drawing hunters to the Everglades. The Florida Everglades is the third-largest national park out of the 48 states. It is also the first national park created to protect the fragile ecosystem. Without the protection of the alliga-tors and thus the ecosystem area we know as the everglades could eventually become nonexist-ent. At one time “this wetland was called the river of grass by an author back in 1947” (Strawn 17).
So when this happens the Everglades will no longer be a place where many animals can call home. It’ll be a little too overrun with snakes, or any other overpopulated animal
The first white settlers that came to Florida thought it was a good idea to drain the Everglades, but they were wrong. Since those early settlers drained the Everglades we have altered the water system. On page 113 paragraph 3 it says “ The streams were dredged, and the Everglades were nearly drained entirely.” Thanks to those settlers we many never get the Everglades back to the way it used to
Subject- Deforestation affects majority of the population, including people and animals, across the nation and in my community. Situation or Problem- Deforestation is the action of eliminating trees, in forests, by cutting them down. The objective of deforestation is to create more land for construction and land establishments with the idea of not restoring thee trees back or replacing them. How it affects my community- Deforestation can disrupt the homes of many animals, including birds and fish.
but this can cause a turnover in the Everglades. Some examples would be changes in the local animal, changes in people, and changes in the ecosystem. These are some serious flaw happening in the Everglades. To begin, massive species snakes such as the Burmese pythons can be very unhealthy to animals that are the pythons predator. Burmese pythons are out in the wild killing creatures such as alligators, deers, cats, dogs, birds, and rabbits.
The Everglades is home to the American Alligator, American Crocodile, Florida Panther, White Tailed Deer, Wood Stork, Eastern Indigo Snake, Cape Sable Seaside Sparrow, Tree Snail and many more (Diptarka Ghosh, May 2021). The animals in the Everglades have adapted to the swampy areas that Florida has to offer. The terrain is so specific that there are animals that can only be found within certain regions of Florida. The article, “Animals of The Florida Everglades” states, “The mosaic of important habitats that make up the Everglades National Park supports several significant floral and faunal species that are unique to the Everglades region and are found nowhere else on the planet. It has been estimated that about 39 threatened species, 300 fish species, 50 reptilian species, 360 avian species, and 40 mammalian species are found in the Everglades National Park.
