Big dreams and a big heart can lead to huge results. Born into poverty, Dolly Parton knew at the age of 10 that she wanted to be a country music star. When she graduated high school, she packed up her bags right away and moved to Nashville. She worked hard and challenged the way things had been in the music industry and she began to watch her dreams come true. She then turned her focus to help others’ dreams come true. Dolly Parton deserves to be honored on a stamp created by the United States Postal Service because she has influenced so many people, she is a great business owner and she has given so much to others.

When Fred Rogers' show started in 1968, black and white people were no longer separated by law, but black and white people were not naturally coming together because of years of being separated. “In 1969, when Black Americans were still prevented from swimming alongside white people, an episode of 'Mister Rogers' Neighborhood' broke the color barrier” (Kettler). In this episode, Rogers invited a black police officer to put his feet in a kiddie pool alongside him. This was important because it showed that people can be together regardless of what they look like or what color their skin was. Fred Rogers was very focused on teaching kids to have respect for others, how to act and behave, and how to be a good neighbor. These are very important skills to have and they are relevant to adults and kids today. Some people will argue that Fred Rogers should be recognized because of his inspirational teachings focused on helping kids develop into respectful people. While his episodes and teachings were very important, they would have made a bigger impact if adults were also regular watchers of the tv show. Her cells have been used to cure countless diseases, test human immunity, understand the effect of certain drugs and radiation on people, test weapons, and so on. Her family knew of her death, but were unaware that her cells were still alive years after her death, and they have never compensated for the profits of the million dollar industry the cells have generated. Wells-Barnett was very brave and cared so much about her race. She deserves to be on the stamp significantly more than Bessie Coleman. Wells co-founded the Alpha Suffrage Club and the NACW Club.
